We really enjoyed our stay at Double Happiness. It's a bit further out of town than advertised (about 0.5 miles from the house to "downtown" Manzanita) but the view is amazing. The house has been renovated nicely and the loft and main room are very comfortable. The master suite downstairs is a bit stuffy and one can tell that the owners have allowed at least a few dogs to stay here previously, but improves with opening any of the many windows to get a nice ocean breeze.
We were also disappointed with the beach access. Although advertised as 4 blocks from the beach, that's with a steep climb down a sandy embankment. We ended up loading our car with all of our beach gear and driving into town and parking each day. Made it a lot easier for the kids to get there and back and we never had to go back if we forgot something or one of the kids wanted a different toy to play with.
We did not use the kitchen much, but it was well stocked and was easy to use. lots of counter space with a large butcher block counter facing the ocean.
The beds were comfortable. Plenty of parking and lots of space for children to play. I would not bring really young children here as the house is very nice and there are a lot of stairs. Best for one family or possibly two families who don't mind sharing a sleeping area (loft has a queen bed and futon in a shared space).
