The drive from I-5 to the Mill is perhaps the best road between the valley and the Oregon coast there is. Ample passing lanes and good speed limits make it an easy ride. The hotel is well-staffed (unlike others on I-5) with genuinly friendly and knowledgeable people. Comfy beds and alert service attendants make for a great hotel stay. The tower rooms are more updated and do not allow pets/smoking. Other rooms that DO allow pets/smoking will afford 1st/2nd level views of the bay (if you book on the east side of the bld.). Internet is lightning fast with hardline hookup if you desire. The outdoor jacuzzi tubs (2) are HOT & POWERFUL with views of the bay to relax in and there is a large indoor pool to cool off in. Restaurants are varied. The Plank House eatery there serves 5 star entrees, delightfully prepared and a feast for the eyes. Lots of local seafood to select from. Casino slots were NOT short of jackpots the whole time we spent on the floor over 2 days (about 12 hours) unlike the I-5 casinos. Coos Bay proper has a beautiful coastline to see, Shore Acres is a must see!

Room tip: Tower rooms high up on the NORTH side offer the most splended views!

Dear ohjames,

Thank you for this lovely review of our property. I am delighted that you enjoyed all aspects of your visit with us. Our friendliness and cleanliness are two standards we live work by, and I am glad to see that you have appreciated both. I share your love of Shore Acres too, make sure to come back and enjoy the roses and rhododendrons that are sure to be blooming soon!

Best regards,

We just returned from a five-night/five-day stay at the Mill Casino Hotel where we and two other couples joined several hundred other attendees at the annual CLAMBAKE Music Festival.

As expected, the Festival was superb, so please accept our many thanks to the bands, the Festival Board, and the volunteers who made it so successful.

Kudos as well to the Mill Hotel and Casino for hosting the event – their hospitality and attentiveness to the needs of the Festival guests was greatly appreciated.

The hotel lived up to the standards that we have come to appreciate and expect over the many years that we have been their guests. The rooms were well-appointed, clean, spacious, quiet, and comfortable; the hotel staff at check-in, check-out, housekeeping, and valet services were courteous, efficient, and helpful.

The overall experience from this extended stay was just exceptional - we could not have expected more, so thank you from all of us.

Room tip: We prefer the tower rooms - the corner suites are very nice choices as well

Asked for early check-in week in advance. Room not ready until 4:30pm.
Beds were a 10, the showers were a two(low pressure, not hot)
View was an 8: the tv was a 3
Sunday brunch buffet was horrible, worse I've seen
The Superbowl party was a disaster with wrong promos and a staff and kitchen woefully unprepared and untrained. Even the flyer to promote had errors

Have stayed at the Mill at least a dozen times or more on business. Great rooms / especially in the Tower, friendly staff, great food in the Plank House. I travel a lot and always enjoy finding a place that makes me feel at ease. I will be there again next week, and am looking forward to it.

Room tip: Go for the Tower, definitely. Worth the extra $

Good clean rooms, quiet, nice staff, parking can be a problem on occasion, restaurant on site plus the casino close on hand if you want to gamble, owned by the local tribe, lots of history in the lobby,
