My husband and I stayed in Eugene/Springfield the night before our day trip to Crater Lake National Park. The quickest way to Crater Lake (from the North) is taking Oregon Route/Hwy 58. About 45 minutes out of Eugene (about 21 miles east of Oakridge), there was a large Salt Creek Falls sign. We made a right turn (south) in the park and drove about a quarter mile. There was a parking lot and self-fee station. We filled in the information on the envelope, put $5 in envelope, put the envelope in the security box and a tag on our vehicle’s dashboard. It took us about 5 minutes to walk to the falls from the parking. Oh my gosh, we were very pleasantly surprise at the falls and paved trail. We ran across Oregon's third highest single drop waterfall, cascading 286 feet. We stayed in the park about 20 minutes. There are more trails to hike in the park but we are short on time. This is a must stop.
