We stayed here for 4 nights as part of a bigger holiday around the US and Canada. It was the best hotel we stayed in (followed very closely by the Oswego in Victoria, BC). The style and design was 1920's Hollywood, with pictures of old film stars scattered around. The restaurant was lovely, and the food was faultless. My only word of warning is to watch out for some hidden costs in the restaurant. We had breakfast one morning and a waitress was milling around offering coffee and juice. I accepted the juice, assuming that it was complimentary, only to discover that I had been charged $4.50 for one glass. Similarly, we had dinner one evening and chose a bottle of wine for $30. The waiter, who was the most attentive waiter I had ever had the pleasure of coming across, extolled the virtues of what we thought was this wine, and so we had 2 bottles. We then received the bill only to discover that the wine we had was actually $50 per bottle. We did raise this with reception when we checked out, and they immediately credited us the difference without question. So all in all a really good stay, and I would highly recommend this hotel is you are planning a visit to Portland. Oh, and try and get to 23rd Street - the restaurants and shops are really eclectic and interesting.
