I stayed for one night, and it was the perfect little place to sleep for a night of celebration at a wedding. The room was smaller than the average hotel room. But it had everything you needed. The bathroom in particular was fantastic.

The Hotel DeLux 2016 Conde Nast Award winner. While DeLux bills itself as a "boutique" hotel I'd call it more of a "tweener". It certainly got the boutique feel but in my opinion this means a smaller property. Of course by definition anything less than 100 rooms is boutique; Delux probably pushes that limit - maybe nearing 100 rooms. Still if you're looking for a quaint property (not a chain) but not a small boutique joint either (dining, gym, etc) then this is a good bet.

Lobby - B: Small but comfortable and fitting for the property. Kind of an art deco meets modern style setting. Overall you'll note the historic cinema theme to the property with photo's of movies stars and politicians from a bygone era.

Check In - A: Great staff, friendly, quick, and really helpful.

Room - B: More of a personal taste thing for me. The large heavy drapes really needed to be motorized.. yanking those things around the bed in the particular room I had was a challenge but not a major issue. The bathroom was a bit tight as well but everything was functional, spacious, and well decorated.

Gym and Dining I didn't use on this particular visit but I'll be back!

Thank you for taking time to share your thoughts about your stay with. Glad to hear, for the most part, you were pleased. We do have 130 rooms but strive to provided the personal, warm service one would expect at a boutique hotel. Hope to welcome you again in the future.

Nice hotel on a quieter street. Historic, older Portland architecture. Friendly and professional staff. Quality toiletries. That's the good. But . . . our (premium) room was really tiny. The photos are taken with a wide-angle lens and are deceiving. The servi-bar takes up a lot of room and if you are not interested in purchasing the items that are on it, you may want a little more space to move around. The bathroom is tiny. Mirrors, lighting, towel racks, etc., are not centered on anything in particular. Ventilation is a problem with these older hotels. The bath tiles were clean but there was evidence of mildew on the ceiling. Our (premium) room faced the brick wall of another building and its windows so we couldn't leave the drapes open as we would otherwise. Parking is additional -- between $29 & $33 per night during our stay. I booked this hotel because I wanted to see what it was like. I gave it an average review for the reasons I stated, but I want to add that the people who work there were very nice.

Room 603, Corner, big, quiet, wonderful morning light.
Room 722, even quieter, though smaller.
Attentive and helpful staff at desk, in the lounge and dining room.
Great spot to walk downtown or uptown, catch the Max, be in Washington park in two stops and in another forested world at the Hoyt Arboretum.
A quiet place to stay, to rest and to head out on your Portland adventures. Great spot if you are carless as we were, but $30 valet overnight parking if you have wheels.

Would stay there again. Enjoyed the personal service and attention.

This was my third stay at this hotel, so obviously I like it fairly well. The rooms vary significantly - the nicest are the corner rooms on the southeastern side - these have windows on two sides and unimpeded views. The building is shaped like a narrow U, so the interior rooms look out at the wing directly across - no bueno! The decor is fun, with the floors devoted to different Hollywood movie directors - not sure if all are 1930s-40s refugees, but the floor we were on was decorated with stills from Michael Curtiz and Ernst Lubitsch films. Retro feel with modern amenities and comfortable beds. Parking in the garage directly across the street is easy - looks like getting there via the metro would be very convenient also. Probably the best thing is the hotel's location, an easy walk to downtown or the lively Pearl district. Also, to Ken's Artisan Bakery for yummy pastries in the morning!

The hotel is the only one in the area, which is pretty quiet, so it's nice to come back each day to a calm neighbourhood, compared to the other downtown hotels. It's not too far from the actual downtown (10 mins walk) and only 2 streets away from the Light Rail station from the airport.
The room is smaller than the typical US hotel (though generous compared to say, Japan) as it's in a historical building. I found it adequate for 1 person, though couples with lots of luggage may want to opt for a bigger room. The decor is cheerful Hollywood (lots of pastels) and well-maintained throughout the property (room, hallway, reception, restaurant).
The only drawback was I had some issues with air-conditioning that had to be reset by the hotel each day. The service was prompt and always polite.
Stay if you like a quiet environment, pleasant rooms and great service!

The room was immaculate. The staff was incredibly helpful and available at all hours. The hotel is very close to many restaurants, bars and shopping. We ordered room service for breakfast and the food came right on time, was hot and delicious.
The experience could not have been any better.
