I moved to this hotel after staying in central Portland for a week because I had an early morning flight the following day. The hotel is very close to MAX Cascade Station, so it is very easy to get to. They have a free shuttle service to PDX every 15 minutes.
The hotel doesn't have a good restaurant to have dinner, but across the street is a shopping center, where you can find a good place to have dinner at.

Takeshi N,
Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review. I'm so happy to hear that our hotel was accessible for you and that you found it easy to navigate around town without a vehicle. We do have some shareable items in our restaurant, but with all the food that Portland has to offer. We totally understand that people want to get out and see what the city has to offer.

We look forward to seeing you on your next trip to Portland.

Take care,
Rosario

Let's start with the positives..
Awesome customer service. Really, just the nicest people and very helpful!
The room was really clean and was not stuffy.
The location in proximity to the airport, shopping, and Ikea cannot be beat.
Also, the beds were comfortable and the room was quiet.

Now the rest...
The design and decor is so strange and random it's almost funny. Like one second you're thinking "okay, cool retro 70's vibe.." then you turn a corner (in the same room) and you're like "oh, okay..a modern European feel..I dig it" then you approach the bathroom which has a heavy solid wood barn like sliding door that has a tiny handle and no lower track, so it's a fun game getting the door closed before you pee and without wacking the bathroom counter with the door as it tries to swing outward.

Back in the main area of your room you'll find a nice carpeted wall with the TV. In the corner next to the bed you'll find a frosted window that.. surprise!..is a window to the shower!! Really great for families and co-workers staying here..hahaha!

All in all I thought it was clean, safe, and nice. Just funky that's all.

Dear kickstartmyheart7,
Thank you so much for your review. We were one of the first Aloft hotels and the design has changed quite a bit over the years. We are always updating our hotel, so you never know what you'll see next time you join us.

Take care,
Rosario

We originally booked this Hotel for one night due to its proximity to PDX, with a view to moving downtown. At check In the place had a glow about it, recently appointed Manager Willy is a gem, he warmly greets all guests and has set the standard for his team, who are a wonderful group
The Hotel is well located opposite the Cascade Station Mall, with plenty of eating options available and next door to the train station which provides a fast rail service to downtown Portland
We were so happy at the Aloft we stayed a total of 5 nights on two separate occasions
The rooms are well appointed and we highly recommend this Hotel if you looking for a hotel near Portland airport or in fact in the Portland area generally

Staff is poorly trained, you will wait 30 mins to get some help because they are working with someone in front of you. Rooms were dirty and dog hair everywhere. They dont do a good job of cleaning. This must be because all the staff seemed to be high schoolers or very young and dont take pride in their jobs. I would not recommend anyone to go there. Also it is far away from the portland attractions, so you have to use a car in their terrible traffic. The other alternative is to use their train system which smelt like vomit and urine. All in all, a terrible experience with this hotel and location.

This hotel was dumpy and cheap. The sheets were rough and low quality, the bathroom was cheap and the tile stained, the furniture was cheap and uncomfortable, and the bed was hard as a rock. For almost $300 I would have expected much, much more. I have previously stayed near the airport in modest hotels for less than 1/3 of this price and had much better accommodations. They put a lot of focus on attention on their lobby and bar, which are fine, but the rooms are, basically, a dump.

I am extremely disappointed that I spent so much money on such an awful room.

Room Tip: I have no idea. Ours was terrible.
