Stayed for business - 1 night

2.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Jul 14, 2017
The staff is friendly but the hotel is not double tree quality. Its in desperate need of an upgrade/remodel. the rooms/halls are dingy/dated and dark. House keeping needs work as well, when i checked into my room there was still food in the refrigator, i tried to call the front desk but it just kept ringing. The iron board had this white sticky stuff on it so I had to lay a towel over it to iron my suit. I ate breakfast (the buffett) it wasn't great but edible. I would not stay here again if i ever make it back to Portland, sorry.

p.s. i'm a gold status for HHonors but i wasn't put on the HHonors

This hotel is in a very convenient location, just a one minute walk to the MAX lite rail for access to key city attractions and about 2 minutes walk from the Lloyd Center Mall. The rooms are a little old, the fixtures were worn out, and it was very dusty and dirty. Housekeeping seems to hit the high notes and not focus on the details like you would expect from a Doubletree.

Great location right next to the MAX and just two Max stops away from the Convention Center or a short ride to downtown. One of the best hotel bars I have experienced with multiple excellent local craft beers on tap and great food/service. Usual quality Hilton rooms.

I booked the Presidential Suites for two nights, 17 & 18 June along with 6 other rooms for guests. It was approximately 1150 square feet, large bedroom with enormous bathroom, biggest I've ever been in. It also has a half bath off the living area. 3 large balconies, one off bedroom, living room and dining room. It has a large dining table with seating for 8. There is a bar area with sink and mini fridge. I had a reception there Saturday night with all my guest from other rooms which totaled 15 people. There was enough room to accommodate all with plenty of room left over. The suite itself was lovely but is showing some wear and tear. Woodwork is skuffed and scratched, wallcoverings beginning to separate, electrical outlets loose. It would be nice if the balconies had furnishings, a lot of space and no way to sit and enjoy the views. Bar area could use some bar stools also. Maybe even add some utensils to the bar. Would not take much for this room to be absolutely fabulous. The location is excellent, just outside the hotel is a light rail stop, 20 minutes to airport from there at a $2.50 fee. The Moda Center is less than 1/2 mile and the Lloyd center mall is across the street. A beautiful park directly across the street also. I enjoyed the mountain view better than the city view. All the front desk staff were curtious, professional and friendly. We had lunch for 14 people at the restaurant Gather and the service was great and very accommodating even without advanced reservations. There is coffee available in lobby for no charge until 6 am. After 6am a coffee kiosk opens for a fee. The lobby area appears to have been recently updated and was quite nice. A lot of space to sit, relax and people watch. The elevators were fast and there seemed to be enough. Chocolate chip cookies at checkin were yummy! There is covered parking available for $25 per night or $35 for valet. All in all I would book this hotel again without hesitation.

Room tip: I enjoyed the mountain/pool view as opposed to the city view.

This hotel is right next to a rail stop. All of the car rental companies at the airport were sold out, soI took the rail from the airport, took about 25 minutes. Then got a rental car from a remote location. The hotel itself is ho-hum. Older. Bed not very comfy. AC is old style wall unit. I ordered room service for breakfast, just scrambled eggs and a fruit cup, and had to find a bathroom about 2 hrs later. I thought the eggs tasted a little funny, but chalked it up to hotel fare. I may consider staying here again if I need to take the rail and I don't order room service.
