We had never been to play here before, so we were game to try it. We were able to get tickets the day of the play which is why three out of five. After that the experience wasn't much at all. We were sitting waiting for the start of the play when two others sat next to us. A few minutes later a staff person came over to them and asked to see their tickets. They showed the person the tickets and the she replied, "well these seats shouldn't have been sold." It then turned awkward as the couple paid for the tickets at home (They had printed them off their computer) so it wasn't their fault. The staff person finally said they could stay there. I thought in the moment that they had paid for those seats, yes they will stay there! Next the play started over ten minutes late. I don't mind a few minutes late but over ten is rather ridiculous. The play itself was alright. It was definitely the directors take on it, and there were some great things I liked about it and other things that I could do with out. At intermission we were debating on leaving because overall we were not impressed with the play, the staff being rather pushy (not rude), it starting so late, and the things we could do without of the play were out weighing the positive. A different play, or different director would be a different experience for sure. I have been to other small theaters and have had much better experiences, staff being super nice, and plays actually running on time will have me going to those theaters over this one any time.

A self-guided walking tour of Oregon's Capitol city is easy with colorful maps and metal art signs pointing the way to several attractions - historic domed Capitol building; parks; historic architecture; Willamette University (the west coast's oldest university); art museum; theaters and more. We enjoyed ducking into one of several casual eateries, and a night of professional musical theater at the intimate Grand Theater. A wonderful day!
