We've been dining here for 36 years and just love the place. The food is always fresh and delicious, the setting is relaxing and comfortable, the wine list is reasonable and mostly local, and the prices are surprisingly reasonable. The menu is eclectic, but we almost always order the specials which are whatever is fresh, local and in season. They often use fresh herbs from their garden and prepare EVERYTHING on site. Did I mention the HUGE amount of food? The biscuits made fresh daily, the salad dressings, and the soups come with every meal - all fabulous. It's basically family run, friendly, comfortable and DELICIOUS! You will not be disappointed.

We were in Ashland for some shows and we bought tickets for a show at the Camelot Theater in the nearby town of Talent. We decided to find a restaurant in Talent before the show. We found The Arbor House online and decided to give it a try. We are so happy that we did! The service was fabulous. The two waitresses couldn't have been nicer or more patient with us as we tried to decide which one of their many delicious sounding things to try. One couple decided on the steak and my husband and I had the halibut. Since all dinners come with soup AND salad and buttermilk biscuits, we ordered one entree per couple. It was an extra $5.00 for sharing since they double the amount of potatoes and veggies served with the protein. It was all just the right amount of food. The salads were particularly delicious due to the three house-made dressings. The steak was tender and delicious and the sauce served with the halibut was sensational. Talent is so lucky to have this family-owned gem. We will definitely plan to return when we are back in Ashland.

I had friends tell me about this place for years, My first experience was wonderful. The interior is a bit dated, however, the restaurant was clean, and chairs were comfortable. Old school countryside setting. Authentic. Very personable wait staff was at our beck and call. The Food was fabulous, includes soup or salad and bread. I tried 3 dishes, Filet Mignon, Weinerschnitzle (Seasonal Special), and Baked Halibut. All were cooked to perfection. Organic local produce was flavorful. A Must do when you are in the region.

This was a tough eating experience. The grounds of Arbor House are charming, a Japanese garden, a pond, an arbor with blossoming foliage and a decorative gravel path lead one to the entrance of the restaurant. Inside a rustic building are charming touches: a piano played by a musician fond of Cole Porter and other classic pop music from the 30's and 40's, and lit candles on tables. The menu is interesting and the specials appealing.

I ordered a starter special of pork belly. It was very good. Then came the soup course, a gazpacho that was inedible. It was dark tomato red and so acidic that I could not eat it. Its flavors bore no relationship to gazpacho as it is made in Spain, its country of origin. Then came salad. It was o.k., greens that could have come from Costco. I ordered chile rellenos for my entree. It came smothered in some kind of fish sauce glaze and covered with shrimps. Accompanied it were garlic mashed potatoes and a mixture of fresh vegetables. There was too much food on the plate and the rellenos were overpowered by it. Later I took an alka seltzer and felt better.

I've lived 10 years in Talent and never had the pleasure of eating at Arbor House until this evening. Every morsel worth dying for. Do not eat so much that you can't eat the salted chocolate caramel mousse before you die !
