Timberline Lodge is a classic that has retained it's originality. The dining room is more contemporary, mostly for the good. The menu is interesting and the food well prepared. Their signature beef was just OK though, the rib eye steak was overly fatty. My crispy duck was much better, well cooked with a wonderful sauce. The service is unfortunately spotty; we waited quite a while between courses and the server was not well versed on the menu or wine list. Their breakfast buffet is good, not great, but reasonably priced.
