We stayed six days and nights at the Edgewater, Waldport, in the "Rustic " two bedroom cottage This cottage is very comfortable with a large fridge, proper oven and a real fireplace , to make it just like home. Our internet search to find this property showed a view of the ocean waves from the front bed room and this is exactly what you see. The changing seascape not only provides an interesting backdrop to our stay but also provided the perfect chance for us to recharge our batteries before our 12 hour flight back to NZ.
The owners live on site and their thoughtfulness is shown in many ways: i had mentioned at booking that as a retired civil engineer i have an interest in bridges and Cathy had got some books from the local library about Oregon Coast highway bridges that help tp broaden our experience of this area

Room Tip: The Rustic Cottage is a perfect balance of beach access, comfort and distance from the Oregon Highway

After doing some web searches before heading to the coast and not finding any listings that inspired us, we decided to just dive down Hwy 101 and look for a place to stay. Obviously this wouldn't work during tourist season, but late in October we thought it would be ok to take our chances. We were looking for a non-corporate, Mom & Pop style seaside cabins for some quality R&R time.

Just a couple miles south of Waldport we struck gold. The Edgewater Cottages were literally everything we were hunting for--quiet, sparsely developed, quaint, meticulously maintained, immaculate, tons of character, and warmly welcomed by the owner who spent about an hour touring us in the rooms and telling us the history behind the cottages. It is clear that the owners dearly love this place, who do all the cleaning and maintenance themselves, and it really shows. Every room has a great view of the surf right outside the window, and wood fireplaces that really add to the ambiance. One other reviewer said that the place was dated and in need of upgrading, but since it's so well maintained, in my opinion that's exactly what makes it so charming. A definite must-return.

Room Tip: Toured five cottages before choosing Commodore cabin, all were great

My husband and I recently returned from a beautiful and much needed trip along the Oregon coast. We had our beloved Chico the chihuahua with us as my husband and this adorable, loyal little creature are inseparable. We had stayed at many different pet friendly, and even a few unfriendly hotels along the way. In our quest to find the next pet friendly hotel as we headed towards Waldport my husband happened to come across a number for Edgewater Cottages. This beautiful place became the highlight of our vacation!! So welcoming, so cozy, and without a doubt one of the cleanest places we have ever stayed AND they are pet friendly!!! We seriously felt like we had won the lottery! We stayed in the Sea Vista Cottage with an amazing view and quick jaunt to the beach just below. It had all the amenities you could ever need, all the way down to book collections, movies and games. The love and attention to detail is everywhere and we absolutely cannot wait to return to the magnificent Sea Vista Cottage at Edgewater this time next year!! Thank you Cathy and Chuck!!

We spent a week in the Sea Vista (main floor only). From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and at home. The cottages are clean and quaint with a lot of charm! Make sure to spend time on the deck watching the ocean. We saw whales every day!! The Cottages are also in a great location to explore the Oregon Coast in both directions! Thank you for a terrific stay and for all of the information that you gave us about the surrounding area; places to see; and things to do!! We will definitely be back.

A friend came to visit, and finding a place last minute was rough. Then I happened upon Edgewater Cottages. What a perfect place to enjoy the ocean, and relax. It takes special people to manage places like this and to me Cathy and Chuck are A-1. Very personable, nice, down to earth people. We loved staying here and will tell our friends who come to visit.

Room Tip: Stayed in the Commodores cabin, and the Chart Room. Both are very nice with good views of the ocean. The Commodores cabin is larger but I think my heart belongs to the quaint little Chart room.
