Simply stated...Veya is everything we heard. The conch fritters were scrumptious... the chef does something magical with all the sauces so whatever we dipped the fritters in was the most velvety, light, incredible sauce. Our entrees seared tuna steak and lobster were memorable. The portions were surprisingly large for such fine cuisine. Bravo to the owners!! Highly recommend this culinary adventure.

Recently in Anguilla for the first time. Many restaurants with great food and service. The food at Veya was very good HOWEVER the evening was rushed. It was not a relaxing experience and could not classify as fine dining. The courses came out too quickly and one on the heels of the other. Out other criticism is the alcohol/wine. Wine selection was not great so had vodka on the rocks while my husband had his standard dewars on the rocks. Both pours were very small. Have a pet peeve about that. Although the food was good, not sure we would go back.

We tried many of the top rated restaurants on Anguilla and would rate Veya the best for the quality of the food, friendliness of the staff, and a beautiful setting.

Amazing amazing! The location is beyond charming...we felt as though we were in a beautiful treehouse! The food, service, and ambiance were perfection...food is fusion! The johnny cakes are to die for as was the pumpkin bread and the banana bread, just to get started! Lovely wine list and it just kept getting better and better.....the traditional fish soup was wonderful, as was the grilled shrimp skewer, steak, buttered lobster risotto and so on! Desserts measured up to the rest of the menu and then we came down stairs to leave and discovered our "piped in music" we had been enjoying was LIVE!! Just an unbelievable talent had been serenading us throughout dinner!!! Then just toss in a full moon and the evening could not have been more perfect!!!!!

Really 2 ½ but trip advisor doesn't offer this option. We have been going to Veya since they opened 10 years ago. They were wonderful then and, despite their higher end pricing, we always went 2 - 3 times in a 2/3 week period. They still offer an incredibly lovely setting for dinner, however, it (the restaurant/attitudes) has become tired and somewhat lackluster. When we arrived there was an abundance of staff welcoming, suggesting drinks, which water you want, explaining specials, taking wine order, pushing for food order but that attention changed once we got our order. Menu is becoming dated. Food - our starters were both very good but quite heavily seasoned with salt and pepper. My main, a tuna steak/fillet (special) was cooked perfectly as ordered (seared) but other than a sauce bed and 1 tbsp. of herbs/sprouts? there was nothing else on the plate - $40. My husband ordered the pork tenderloin, pink. Serving was nicely plated but the pork was well done and dry. We were unable to get the attention of any of the staff to tell them. As we ended up pouring our own wine we couldn't ask the sommelier to get someone. When someone finally decided we must be done (20-30 minutes later) they asked if my husband wanted his pork wrapped to go. He said no as it was overcooked and dry."'He should have sent it back", "Did he want another"; ridiculously after the fact as I was finished my meal. Lots of apologies but where were they when the food first came out? Owner (Jerry Bogar) was working ?? but never once walked around the restaurant in the hour and a half we were there. Nowhere to be seen when we left. Also, his personal dress code needs major work (inappropriate, printed t-shirt). They did take it off the bill but that wasn't the point. We expected someone to care way before this point. This is an expensive restaurant but their service is now more of the lip variety. We were very disappointed as they used to be so good. Too many other outstanding places to eat on Anguilla. Will not go back.
