I'm giving this place five stars even though the basement room, the last one available, lacks a few things, like a clothes rack. Even so, it was spacious, and most important, the mattress was excellent, firm but not too hard—and the manager, Laura, gave me a discount. Staff people were very friendly and helpful, asked about dietary restrictions, and Laura came from home to check me in when I was late due to road delays. The breakfast is exceptional: perfect scrambled eggs and bacon, mixed fruit, a casserole that changes daily, and superb coffee, in a relaxed homelike dining area well suited for conversation with other guests. Located in a nice area for a morning walk. No onsite restaurant, and Berwick has little to offer in that regard, but In terms of both bed and breakfast, this inn is definitely a few cuts above area motels I've tried, more like staying with friends. Highly recommended!More
