The hotel is clearly older. We had our 2 kids with us. We didn't spend a lot of time at the hotel as we were visiting family. I booked the wrong dates - they still gave us a room and let me cancel the wrong reservation with no penalty which was very nice of them.
Room had a shower. The sink in the bathroom was the perfect height...for my 3 year old. No fridge in the room. AC in rooms but not the rest of the hotel, which didn't matter to us. Stayed during the week. Continental breakfast was simple. I suggest heading to Millers for breakfast! Awesome food and huge portions. Nothing fancy. But if you're just looking for a bed it does just fine.

We stayed for three days. We had 3 kids under the age of 9. It was defidently a no thrills hotel. Pretty outdated, although the tv was pretty new. Old décor, rooms were not cleaned very well. We found garbage on the floors around the beds. So my suggestion would be is to bring your own cleaning supplies if you want it clean. They really do just the basic clean job. We had an adjoining room. The room had some smell to it as did the hallway. We did have a good time there though. If we come back it may just be a day or we will stay someplace else. A wedding was happening during our stay which we had to deal with drunk guys running down the hallway banging on doors screaming and yelling.
Wifi is not really good in the rooms. We could not get a signal at all. They tried to fix it but even when they did, it still sucked. They had personal air conditioners in each room, but it does get cold and the comforter you get is so thin that it doesn't help much with the cold. They provide breakfast , Sat and Sun in the Elizabeth room (downstairs). It was nice, but not the best breakfast, but it no complaints since it was complimentary. They had scrambled eggs (watery), sausage, pancakes or waffles and assortment of breads (mostly stale or were frozen and then taken out. The coffee was pretty good though.

Room Tip: Try to get the first floor since there are no elevators

This hotel is a landmark and is located next door to the amusement park. The rooms are older, but they are keeping them as close to the original rooms when it was built. You do have to bring your own soap, toothpaste & shampoo. The view of the lake is lovely. Weddings are often booked at the hotel and the reception halls are beautifully decorated. The owners are lovely people and are "down to earth". They have a lounge (restaurant/bar) that has very good food in large portions at a reasonable price as well as a bar on the beach itself. The amusement park is just next door which also contains a water park. Passes can be made for these separately or together for a very small cost. Also, this hotel offers dinner murder mystery parties...especially around halloween. The hotel has been know to have been visited by ghosts, but there is only one way to know for sure...check it out.

This is a nice older hotel for a quick getaway. The hotel is old but is clean and the food and service was good. We called for an extra pillow and it was delivered promptly. The rooms are small but good for a quick overnight - nice views of the lake. The have a small bar on the dock and it was nice to watch the lake and the boaters arrive.

I have no doubt in my mind that Hotel Conneaut was absolutely amazing 100 years ago. It is a beautiful big old building, with big porches overlooking a beautiful lake. there are chairs set up on the porches and you can sit and watch the sun set - it's beautiful. The inside of the hotel... it's in need of some updating.

You enter into a beautiful lobby with a big staircase up to the hotel rooms. There are banquet rooms on the ground floor that host weddings, and I'm sure they're beautiful.
Some rooms, I am led to believe, have been updated and are beautiful. The room that we stayed in was a bit more... rustic. The room that we stayed in had two double beds, each one pushed up against the wall, with about 2 feet in between. There was a dresser with a TV on it (that we couldn't make work) and exactly three outlets in the room - one for the TV, one under the bed, and one in the bathroom. We charged our phones in the bathroom. The beds are not fancy memory foam -- they're old spring mattresses, the kind that your grandmother has in her spare bedroom. The beds were made with really tacky bedspreads and scratchy blankets. But, they were clean! The bathroom had a shower, toilet and sink. The sink still had separate hot and cold faucets. I hadn't seen one of those in a decade at least! It was also really low to the ground, which was a bit strange... There were pipes in the ceiling where plaster was missing - you can tell that the bathrooms were added to the rooms probably once indoor plumbing became popular... The transom above the door still had the hardware to open it, but it was screwed shut.

The entire hallway was decorated with creepy old pictures and there were chairs and sitting areas in the hallways. Oddly there were ramps in the hallways. it was weird. You could film the shining in this place.

Now, that said, it was pleasant. The desk staff was very friendly. They sell books about hauntings and were happy to let me leaf through them. They had a little continental breakfast in the morning (apparently there's a hot breakfast on saturday & sunday morning). The hotel is located right at the Conneaut Lake Park amusement park, which is an interesting place to say the least.

I really hope that the hotel can modernize and stay in business, because it's a really neat old building!

Room Tip: No elevators, so keep that in mind!
