We have been dining at this favorite since we moved to Doylestown in 1978. Special pasta dishes are available on different days of the week and our favorite is Saturday. We usually order insalate de funghi and the tagliatelle fruta de mar or the pasta .graminia, and a nice bottle of Chianti Classico. Hot bread dipped in olive oil table side rounds out a very pleasurable evening.

I have eaten lunch here on three different occasions and each time I was seated in the outside section which really adds to the overall experience of this place. The tree branches, white lights, small tables, and views of the passing traffic and in-town activities create a great environment for spending a relaxing afternoon with friends. The restaurant serves olives and bread, and the menu includes sandwiches and pasta dishes, while also having a few daily specials. I enjoy the pasta meal with chicken and capers, and neither my friends nor I ever seem to leave food on our plates. Service was satisfactory, and since we weren't there at a busy time, we were able to leisurely complete our meal without feeling rushed to leave.

They serve bread by the piece, not by the basket. I asked for extra bread, and was told I couldn't have any "Until they were sure they had enough bread for everyone else in the restaurant." (ACTUAL QUOTE) We wanted to sit in the outside garden, no one was there, told it was completely reserved. However, by the time we finished eating the garden was never more than 1/4 full, and my party had been stuck in a corner all evening. Asked for Mussels as my entree, was told my order would only have 3 or 4 musses. Spoke to manager, she made no attempt to alleviate any of our problems.

We have enjoyed the wine bar and pub many times across the street, but this was the first time visiting the restaurant. We visited on a Saturday night for our daughter's birthday. The restaurant layout is very unique offering multiple levels and the opportunity to sit outside when the weather is nice.

The service was good as our servers were very attentive, and the staff made our daughter's birthday special. The server let us know that certain dishes take longer to prepare, but to be honest it didn't take that long.

The food was good overall. We had a special tomato/mozzarella appetizer which was ok but on the small side. All four of us had pasta, and each dish was enjoyed (even the kids really liked their meals). The portions are small, and there is no kids menu. Having to order adult meals for the kids was fine, but it does drive up the cost for a family.

Overall, it was a good experience, and we will be back in the future.

Don't get the eggplant parmigiana. For the price you pay, all you get is a small piece of eggplant. That's it. No pasta. No sides. Just a small piece of eggplant.

The off-menu specials are good, but regular menu items are boring and unimpressive.
