I am 68 years old and have stayed in hotels all across this country as well as in half the world, and this was perhaps the worst experience in a hotel I have had. I had arrived for a wedding and was allowed to check in at 2pm( grateful to the kind staff at that time.) I went to my room which felt very chilly( assumed from the AC), and changed clothes to head to the wedding from a shuttle provided. Returned to hotel around 9-9:30, and went back to room to change again and go down to outside patio to visit with family/friends. Upon arrival back to my room for the night, discovered that everything felt damp in the room and upon a little investigation, it was determined that other rooms were the same. Trying to rest/sleep in that environment was virtually impossible. I paid for the room with a reasonable expectation of comfort and in my view, that contract was not upheld by SureStay Best Western. In the morning, when I checked out and told the desk person about the room situation, i was told I should have called down and asked for a dehumidifier!!!!! Are you kidding me? This hotel KNOWS it has a humidity/dampness problem that they have dehumidifiers available, but not in every room, and i was supposed to know to ASK for a dehumidifier? Additionally, internet access was NOT available -- the sign in did not work( as was the case for others I spoke to as well). I only hope and pray that I do not become ill from staying in the damp room. It was a terrible experience.
