So, I accidentally stumbled across Woodloch looking into a short Spring Break vacation trip for our 3 children. Never heard of it before. I read many reviews prior to booking our trip and finally jumped in. It was a great decision for us. We had a fantastic time!
For the 5 of us (2 adults/children ages 4, 8, and 10) we chose the Edgewater Suite with the washer/dryer. It was perfect for us as we like to spread out. We had a beautiful view of the lake. We liked having the separate bedroom with closed door (great if you have a little one that needs to nap). We were so surprised with all the activities available, there was so much to do. My children loved the Rice Krispie Treat War - our group got second place. Our first Woodloch medal!
We opted for the 3 meals per day package, which does make life much more convenient. In our room, we had a full kitchen. So we could have brought food/made food to save some expense. There were various food options at each meal, always something that our children would eat. Food comes out quickly. Some meals were better than others. Soft drinks/milk/juice are included. If you would like alcohol, that is purchased separately. There is complimentary coffee and iced water in the main lobby, but not soft drinks. I really feel that should be included in the price of the...So, I accidentally stumbled across Woodloch looking into a short Spring Break vacation trip for our 3 children. Never heard of it before. At the meals, there were characters present, like Woody, Arielle, etc. Definitely, a nice treat for the younger kids.
The indoor pool is a decent size. We only went there once as we were only there for 3 days and wanted to take advantage of all the other activities.
Shows at night were enjoyable as well. A criticism would be that while we were there - we could not go to one of the Main Shows - they put an age restriction on it. This was somewhat upsetting to me because we wanted to see the show, but would then have to split the family up. When I asked why there was an age restriction, we were told it wasn't because the material was "age inappropriate" but because of room capacity and that we could try and come late to the show. If there were seats still available, then we could be seated. In my opinion, families should be allowed to be seated on a first come, first serve basis. We paid just like everyone else did.
The kids loved the go-carts, bumper cars, bumper boats, games, indoor playground, taking out the paddle boats, petting zoo, mini-golf, riding bikes. There also is rifle/paintball shooting and batting cages for a fee - the kids loved that as well. There is a rock climbing wall but unfortunately, there are age and weight restrictions. Really wish there was one available for all as both my older children have rock climbed and were disappointed that they could not do it. There were also movies being played but we never went to them.
The property is fairly large, but definitely walk-able. There are shuttles that are constantly going around. So, at the end of the day, they were convenient as the kids were tired from their fun-packed day.
We definitely want to come back to Woodloch and stay for a longer time. Now that we have been there, we will know how to plan a little better. Hope this review helps.
Thanks Woodloch for a great family trip!More
