The resort has a good location, nice rooms, cozy, but staff are hard to deal with....its located in the center of town which is pretty snazzy, close to bars and everything. Not much to do other than a place to sleep...they have a pool but never used it.

Room tip: very loud...could not sleep when I came...but it was the time of the year...celebrations everywhere.

The hotel is very clean and it is close to the beach. The air conditioner worked really well, which is a must because it was very hot. The rooms are really small, barely enough room for the beds, and the breakfast was barely adequate. I felt that for the money we paid things should have been a bit more luxurious.

We was here for two nights. The best in this hotel is its location (near the beach and center). Also the staff is very friendly. The rooms are very small and dark. Pool is nice and clear, but the breakfast are awful. It's very small and not tasty - prepare to breakfast in other place.
My verdict - this hotel only for a 1-2 nights, no more.

We booked two rooms for one night for 180$ (5 adults and 2 children).

The rooms are equipped with air con and tv, but are super small and with a window facing the internal patio. We have to asked for sheets and towels. The swimming pool is small but does the work.
The breakfast was terrible: just some watery filter coffee and some tea. Don't expect any juice or water or fruit...Toasts with butter and jam or Gallo pinto with scramble eggs. I order some Gallo Pinto and wanted some butter for the toasts, but they refuse to give me since it was just for people ordering toasts!!?? No sense at all.
Seriously for 90$ per night I expect at least some decency on the breakfast if it's included.

I really enjoyed staying at Hotel Gran Oceano, The owners Jorge and Alba Lydia were so pleasant to deal with. Although they have limited English their daughter Gina and the front desk clerk Marlon both speak extremely good English and helped with recommendation for tours. The room is a small but quiet and clean room with hot water air conditioning and TV.
