Arrived at the restaurant about 7pm, not many people there at that time. The restaurant was very clean and well presented. The staff friendly and attentive. Our order came fairly quickly. The portions were huge! We ordered a meat dish each and a rice and naan to share, there was enough food for at least 4 people. The dishes taste absolutely delicious, they were full of meat and lots ot flavour. We thought the prices were very reasonable. We would definatley go there again and have already recommended it to family and friends.

We went out for a family meal and apart from my husband who ordered a madras we all chose mild dishes. We ordered a Korma, pasanda, butter chicken and a chicken tikka. They used the same sauce for all these curry’s which was the korma sauce. The sprinkled almonds on the pasanda, melted butted on the butter chicken and food colouring in the tikka. They all tasted exactly the same. After eating curry’s all over the country I know the difference between these dishes. If they are only going to serve you a korma then they should take the other mild dishes off the menu.

Saturday night visit - small interior but welcoming. Could almost be a proper old school Indian restaurant if it didn’t have the bare wooden tables and big TV screens.

The good bits :Service pleasant, popadoms good, main courses, rice and sides all excellent - very flavoursome and well spiced. Draught Kingfisher good too (they also have Cobra on tap).

The bits that could be improved: Ask for a pineapple juice and automatically given a pint, which costs £3.20! Not short of the price of a pint of lager. I would suggest that such a drink would sensibly be served as a half pint at the most, at least by default, although they could have asked if we wanted a small or large.
Tables without table cloths - I don’t mind it but when extra cutlery is brought out and put down on the table, it’s noisy and potentially unhygienic. Would soften the interior slightly as well.
Glass of tap water ordered by a five year old. Again, brought a pint and it was warm and cloudy.
The female member of staff looked as if she would rather be anywhere else. A smile goes a long way and doesn’t cost anything.
Charging 70p per head for chutneys with popadoms seems slightly disingenuous. As these are already on the table it is essentially a cover charge - you already pay for the popadoms themselves. It’s like a burger chain charging you for the ketchup and mayonnaise that is in bottles on the table. I wonder if popadoms (a couple) are complimentary with takeaways, as they should be at all Indian restaurants in my view.
I’ll probably return to find out and try some more dishes from the extensive menu- the food was certainly the best Indian I’ve had in Devizes.
