“Criminally good”
Reviewed 19 November 2011

A designated museum of national significance, this museum is a must-see for anyone curious about the society which created Stonehenge, and much else besides - such as Romans, a really good viking gallery, and plans for new, shinier exhibitions in the future apparently.

A perfect accompaniment to Stonehenge basically.

“Must see”
Reviewed 16 November 2011

This museum has a really interesting collection!
It has got the Archaeological finds from Stonehenge and Avebury.
These pieces include the "first king" burial finds, and other really interesting things. They are visible only in this museum, so It's a "must see" collection if you want to get the whole context of these prehistoric sites.

“excellent collection”

outstanding collection. The staff were very helpful. It would need much more media attention and publicity (maybe more funds too?).

“Must See for anyone with interest in Stonehenge or South-Western English Heritage!”
Reviewed 14 November 2011

This is a wonderful independent museum including many priceless Bronze-Age artifacts from Stonehenge and Avebury. Be sure to make it a stop on your way to or from these sites, as it gives real insight into what life was like in the area during the Neolithic period.

“What a hidden gem!”
Reviewed 14 November 2011

This museum is really lovely! As a lover of prehistoric archaeology the Devises collection was very significant to me, but even if you are a novice to archaeology and history, this museum is great.

More importantly if your going to see Stonehenge or Avebury, or any of the many prehistoric monuments in Wiltshire, make sure you team them with a visit here, gives the sites a wonderful context that just is not accessible out on site!
