Stayed for one night with a friend whilst walking the Severn Way to raise money for Macmillan. Made very welcome. Excellent rooms. Friendly staff who went out of their way to help us. Nothing was a problem! Nice food and excellent cider.

Room tip: Some rooms have a bath and shower attachment only

Visited this very charming riverside pub on a Friday lunchtime. There was plenty of outdoor seating and a very extensive menu. I ordered the pie of the day and my wife a southern fried chicken burger, both of which were excellent. The only downside was the attitude of the staff, they were more interested in talking amongst themselves than serving. When our food was served it was plonked on the table and we were told cutlery was” in there”. A definite attitude problem.

Stayed here on a Saturday night following an afternoon boat trip with work. Had the attic room (6) with bedroom, living space and bathroom all on the top floor with windows each overlooking a superb downstream view of the river. It's a 400 year old listed building, deliberately built with a slight slope so that flood waters drain back towards the river, so all a little uneven inside but that really adds to the quirkiness and charm of this beautiful property. Requested early check-in and that was all problem free. Had an evening meal here which was good pub grub style; well cooked and good value. The room was equipped with everything you could need and a very comfortable bed and the breakfast in the morning was a monster of well cooked and high-quality food that kept us going all day. At £120 for the night including breakfast it's probably not the cheapest of stays, but for a riverfront location and great food and facilities, we can't recommend this highly enough.

Room tip: Room 6 has great river views.

We popped into the Swan Hotel for coffee and cake bank holiday Monday afternoon. We were served by a very friendly chap and he's the only reason this review isn't 1 star!

At £9.50 for two latte's and cake it wasn't cheap so our expectations were high. Unfortunately they weren't met. The cake looked nice but was served with a used fork, and when I say used I mean covered in someone else's previous cake! The toffee cake itself looked nice but was very heavy indeed, reminded me of school puddings.

Our latte's were watery and not very tasty, although they were at least piping hot. We won't be returning...

We have recently moved to upton and we went to the swan as we saw it on trip advisor and the reviews were good. We were not disappointed, food came very quickly and was piping hot and delicious, staff were all very friendly and cheerful, we went back the next day and again had a lovely hot meal, we asked about the floods in the area and the people working there brought us photos and told us all about the history of the floods, love the warm and friendly people here, nothing is too much trouble and they have the time to chat with you, we will be using this place regularly and would recommend it to our family and friends.
