Peaceful Night Away

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Mar 3, 2024
Me and my partner stayed here on Saturday evening, we couldn’t fault anything.. it was lovely and quiet just what we both needed, from start to finish ‘Evie’ was just brilliant, took us to our room, came outside and put the fire pit on for us… nothing was to much trouble for her! Very satisfied with our stay & very comfortable, we loved the truffle fries! what a lovely evening & a very special place for both of us! We will defiantly be back!

Sunday Lunch booked for 3 O’Clock for my partners Birthday a party of 8. Had to stand and wait until 3.20 before getting to table, then everything was a long wait! Order wasnt taken until 4pm starters turned up at 4.20 then main course gone 5pm. mains were cold and most of us had roast Lamb, we waited so long for the mint sauce to arrive that some of us had finished our meal! Potatoes were so overcooked you had to saw through them. Some starters & puddings were no longer available. Definately didnt pay the service charge as quite frankly it was appalling.

8 adults and 4 children ate in one of their private rooms. It was truly an incredible experience.
The fact they have these rooms is so wonderful as we could spread out, let toddlers move about and not worry about mess or noise.
A group of 12 in a restaurant would normally be one long table with 6 on each side but the large banquet style table meant we could all talk to each other and this was such a brilliant touch.

There was also an open fire going which was beautiful (high up so out of the way of little hands too).

The food is amazing and given the fact its such high quality and the setting is so beautiful its not much more expensive than a normal pub.

The staff could not do enough for us and I was very pleased to hear that the tips go to the team in full. They've clearly had good training and more importantly had wonderful attitudes too.

I will definitely be going back soon.

What a fabulous place!
Warmly welcomed by staff when we arrived for our nights stay to see A Night at the Musicals with the wonderful Dean Chisnall!

The room & tables were beautifully decorated, the food was excellent, the service brilliant & the entertainment top class!

Gorgeous room with comfortable bed (though was wired due to the enotion of the evening & too much coffee before bed from the Nespresso machine in the room!)

Breakfast was yummy with great choices & really good tea!

Huge thank you to Helen & staff for making us welcome!

Lovely first time at this hotel. King club room, was on the small side but perfectly adequate for our 1 night stay. Good size bathroom with great shower and bath. Very clean, big comfy bed. Only suggestion I would make is to please add basic instructions and pics as to how to use the coffee machine to the information notes ,as instructions booklet is size of the new testament ! Wonderful breakfast, bar and restaurant areas looked very appealing. Staff very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back, so peaceful , highly recommend a stay here !

Room tip: If a big event was being hosted I probably wouldn't stay as rooms are overlooking the marquee and above the restaurants and I would imagine noisey, but any other time...
