Friendly welcome and huge variety of military collections to see for a reasonable entrance fee (£13 for family of four). A must for military enthusiasts!

We visited as it was raining so we needed somewhere that would let the dog in! Found it to be a really interesting museum of war memorabilia from first second and falklands war. Had my mum with us too so it brought back many memories of her childhood in the 40s. Lots of rooms stuffed full of exhibits with good detailed descriptions. It was also a nice change to have a sensible entrance fee, not free but an amount that didn't make you think twice about paying.

This is situated at Davidstow airfield, and when you drive in you pass by the memorial museum which is much smaller and should not be confused with the 'Cornwall at war museum'. Entirely run by volunteers it is very interesting and has a vast array of exhibits both large and small. It is a compact site, well set out and if you read all of the information cards and papers you would be there all day, which is not a bad thing. You can get hot and cold drinks in the NAAFI with an honesty box so make sure that you pay. Try it you might like it.

I'm normally a bit sceptical about visiting places with old airplanes ! My husband's the enthusiast not me however I was very impressed with this museum, it's definitely worth a visit. Rebuilt by husband and wife of what was left of Davidstow Moor airfield with lots of displays and artefacts that not only tells the story of the airbase during the war it includes a small visitors centre for the Davidstow Cheese Factory next door .
