“Excellent Cottage, homely, comfortable and surprisingly spacious.”
Reviewed September 22, 2014 for a stay in August 2014

This cottage is full of character with rooms on different levels, painted original uneven walls, creaky floorboards, an open fireplace in the lounge and delightful window seats. The furniture and furnishings all add to the homely feel as soon as you enter. A large, spacious kitchen (with new appliances) and twin room above almost doubled the size of the cottage without compromising quaintness. The welcome tray was very welcome after a long journey, with fresh milk in the fridge and a bowl, ball and treat for our excited cocker spaniel, Bobby. We loved the garden, the cows in the field behind and the views over to Goonhilly Earth Station. A handy village shop and petrol station round the corner and an excellent pub with real ales and good food almost opposite. It's clear that a great deal of care, attention and love have been invested in this home from home cottage. We will definitely book this cottage again when we visit The Lizard next.

Thank you for your most favourable appraisal about our cottage following your holiday there last month.

Indeed after owning Palm Cottage for over twenty years we are still surprised how deceptively spacious it is within compared to its outside appearance.

People often say to us fancy having a garden in a second home with all the maintenance etc but we love it almost as much as we adore the cottage itself.

You are also quite right to point out how useful it is to have the shop and the pub so near, the latter having fairly recently been refurbished yet still keeping its old world charm and serving very good food at a reasonable price.

“Fantastic !”
Reviewed September 3, 2014 for a stay in August 2014

Having booked a cottage in Cornwall and then being let down by company , I searched in panic and happened upon this cottage by chance , fell in love with pictures and booked asap. We were not disappointed , it is as good as it looks , my family all felt the same. It is truly warm and welcoming and the welcome pack supplied by owners really adds the finishing touch - fresh flowers and milk in the fridge etc , it really was a lovely touch. The bedrooms are lovely with really comfortable beds and beautiful finishing touches to all rooms , garden is safe for children and lovely to sit out in , The pup in village is very nice and food is pleasant there , local shop great if you need milk for breakfast , couldn't have asked for a nicer place. Lots of leaflets for places to visit , but if you just want to chill or go walking this place is ideally situated on the lovely Lizard peninsular. This place is suited for couples and families of all ages alike. And if you do stay I would definately recommend a visit to Roskillys Farm nr St Keverne especially if you have children , leaflet pinned to notice board in cottage, as visit is free and food in restaurant is great and very reasonably priced and icecream to die for , if you have children you can purchase feed for the animals , my daughter loved this and their is wonderful gift shop and great walks around ponds and fields and old orchard and if you visit at right time you can see the cows being milked. We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful cottage as our base and village is very peaceful. I have already uploaded photos to show my friends and family and told them all about the cottage ! Would love to stay again and were reluctant to leave !Also the free internet access was added bonus , we skyped my inlaws in Canada to show off the cottage while we were there !

Thank you for your most generous comments about your recent holiday in Palm Cottage and we are delighted that you all had an enjoyable time.

We regard it as our country home rather than a mere Holiday Let.

We agree with you entirely about the Prince of Wales pub serving excellent food at a very reasonable price and has the added convenience of being just over the road.

Roskillys Farm is quite unique in the area where as you say one watch the beautiful Jersey cows being milked and also enjoy their delicious ice cream.

We look forward to you visiting us again when we'll be happy to offer you a loyalty discount.

“Beautiful cottage”
Reviewed November 20, 2013 for a stay in November 2013

Palm Cottage is a lovely place to stay: very cozy and warm with beautiful homely touches. We were very comfortable and the cottage is warm even in November! The local area is well worth a visit with lots to do and lovely walks around the coastal path particularly around the Lizard and Kynance Cove. We had a good meal in the pub just across the road from the cottage and joined in with their quiz night which was great fun. All in all, a very pleasant stay.

Thank you for your kind comments about Palm Cottage and trust that you took advantage of the real fire in addition to the background heating.
As well as Frenchman's Creek the circular walk from Lizard village to Kynance Cove and back is one of our favourite jaunts.
Agree that the food at the recently refurbished Prince of Wales pub represents good value for money and as a bonus, is conveniently just over the road.

“The most perfect cottage.”
Reviewed September 23, 2013 for a stay in August 2013

Palm cottage is the most lovely place to stay. You feel welcome as soon as you enter, The owners have thought about everything you would need and equipped the house well. The cottage is as it is in the pictures so no nasty surprises. They even welcomed our dog with treats and a ball.
Palm cottage is in a very quiet village with rural surroundings so perfect if your wanting to get away for some peace....but within easy reach of some of the most amazing beaches and coves.(church cove and Kynance cove been favourites). You are also near a major supermarket for all your supplies.
The pub opposite the house serves excellent meals for when you fancy a break from cooking. I could go on and on about this house.....would I recommend it to everyone. Yes I absolutely would. You will not be disappointed. Already planning 2 weeks next year.

Thank you for your kind and eloquent comments about our cottage and the surrounding area. Kynance Cove is also our family's favourite beach with its numerous rock pools at low tide. Pleased you liked The Prince of Wales pub, so convenient and extremely good value.
We look forward to you taking another holiday at Palm Cottage in the near future.

“very very good”
Reviewed August 3, 2013 for a stay in July 2013

A very well presented and equipped property, we have stayed at several different propperties in the past and this was easily the best, upon arrival we were greeted by a very well kept garden, into the house which was pristinely clean, the property by far catered for my family of 6, the weather was best described as poor but we were able to read books and play games which are inside, the only gripe we had was that the access to the parking area was too small to get our car into, in fairness though we have a volkswagen caravelle which is on the large side! a normal car would fit no problem, many thanks for a great time

“A Sheer Delight!”
Reviewed July 8, 2013 for a stay in July 2013

The travel fatigue from a 7 hour journey from London immediately evaporated upon setting foot in Palm Cottage. There were squeals of excitement from the children as they explored the living areas and bedrooms.
The cottage is brimming with character and each room's ambiance is enhanced by rustic furniture and tasteful decorative touches. The living room, with its warm fireplace, wooden ceiling beams, bookshelves stocked with books and boardgames is an inviting place to relax in. The kitchen has a generous supply of pots, pans, crockery and cutlery. The back graden is pretty and spacious and adjoins a farm; the children quite enjoyed beckoning cows!
The cottage is situated in a quiet village and is ideal for exploring the beautiful Lizard peninsula. We loved visiting the Minack Theatre, the Porthcurno beach and the Kynance Cove.
