The front of the building looks lovely (a trifle commercial), with occasional flowers up and down the street for color. The front door is very old and interesting.
Service was OK. Food was terrible. I got the BBQ ribs special -- except for one piece, it was tough and dry, as though it had been frozen. Wife tried the shepard's pie -- it was delivered cool, and after more heating, tasted . . . as though it had been frozen.
Floor was uneven and spongy in spots. Pub/bar area looked very dark, too.
Just a few blocks away from the Rideau canal locks, past the cute little tourist shops.
The interior is sparse, dull and dark. Sadly, I looked out window in the mens' room and found a pile of junk behind the building.
Merrickville is a quaint little town, but we won't be going back.
