Relaxing getaway At Cabin no. 16 - comfortable and warm

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Jul 14, 2020via mobile
A peaceful getaway among fir trees and kangaroos... well equipped and very comfortable - had everything we needed. It would have been a 5 if there was a fireplace. Lots to see and do in the area. Highly recommend Jenny’s Retreats.

Our group of 4 recently enjoyed a wonderful weekend of Golf at Kangaroo Valley Golf and Country Retreat. The course is spectacular and unlike any other I have played. The course winds up and down over the range, challenging but loads of fun. We stayed in a deluxe villa and it was a home away from home! Spotlessly clean, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, fully equipt kitchen, modern and comfortable furnishings. Our favorite place was the deck overlooking the course where we enjoyed an afternoon drink watching others tackle the 14th hole. The restaurant offered a great variety of dishes and they were all delicious. All the staff were helpful, very friendly and welcoming. Grab a group of friends and enjoy a fabulous weekend - oh and take your clubs, the course is awesome.

Our groups third visit to this great golf course. Booked a two night midweek package for 6 couples. The cabins were clean and comfortable with everything you need, self catering so one needs to take all supplies with you. A couple of our party had a few minor issues with their accommodation but these were quickly resolved, my only isdue was that the water pressure was low. The cabins , that we had, were low on the course so the views were limited the villas higher up the mountain have some awesome views.
The staff were friendly and efficient and nothing was too much trouble. The golf course is challenging but offers some great views. The fairways are wide and the greens run true. Quite a lot of water to avoid but this course should be on everyone's bucket list.

    Hello there H9919IFjohnw,

Firstly, thank you for the four bubble review on TripAdvisor; it's these reviews that make us smile.

Sorry to hear that the water pressure wasn't first class. Not sure if you know this, but aren't connected to town water, and entirely rely on the water stored in our dams which run on a gravity-fed system. This can explain the low pressure, which can be quite the culture shock if you come from a major city!

Glad to hear that the minor issues were resolved and the staff were able to look after you. Thanks for recognising them.

The villas higher up indeed have a different view to those lower down, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder, right? Especially if you're on the deck, watching your mates try and tackle the challenging course. That can be worth a giggle or two.

Thanks again for taking the time to share your thoughts with us, it's always so lovely to hear from people that have recently stayed. Please, come back and see us real soon.

We were a group of 4 who spent the Australia Day long weekend playing golf at the Kangaroo Valley golf & country resort. We had a lovely 2 bedroom deluxe cabin overlooking the golf course. The cabin had everything in it that we needed to cook our dinners. We ate in 2 nights and had a delicious dinner at the restaurant 1 night. The cabin was very comfortable with a lovely verandah to sit on and watch other golfers & wildlife! The staff were extremely friendly & helpful. They even let us unload our gear before teeing off, as there wasn't anyone in our cabin the previous night. The golf course can be challenging, but the views are beautiful! You can enjoy a cold drink at the pro shop after your round & watch others play out the 18th. An absolutely awesome weekend, we can't wait to go back!

    Hello Lyn G,
You little ripper. What a review to receive from a guest.
Thank you so much for taking the time to sit down and write this. It means the world to us.
Our Australia Day long weekend is always fun, especially if you enter the photo competition. Did you get a chance?
If not, come back next year and try your hand it. We generally give away a deluxe weekend.
Just imagine the fun you and your friends could have if you win, not to mention the giggles on the deck with a cold glass of wine or beer.
Thanks again for the big 5-stars!

We found this accommodation a bit rundown but comfortable. The room we stayed in was in need of renovation.
The location was lovely and the staff we all great.
We had a bbq right out the front of our room but we couldn’t use it because it was so dirty and we didn’t have anything to clean it with, which was disappointing.

    Hi Sue,

Thanks for sharing your thoughts about your stay with us, sounds like we have some areas where we can improve. It's diligent guests such as yourself that help.

The BBQ situation can be confusing at times as some villas and cabins have them on the deck. These are for the owners of the accommodation only, and not for the public. Sorry, if we didn't make that clear. We do have a wonderful communal BBQ in our beer garden which is undercover and has table and chairs.
Understand that doesn't help you now, but hopefully you'll come back and give us another crack and you'll khow where you can sizzle your sausage!

Speaking of sausages, have you seen our KVGCR Golden Sausage attempt? Could be something to try next time.

Just a short distabce from the townsite and in the middle of the bush....if you count a golf course as bush. They would have minimal use for the lawnmowers there as the fairways seemed to be stocked with kangaroos, wombats and a huge number of native birds. Made for very entertaining drinks on our verandah.
The cabins were very warm and comfy with all the necessary self contained utensils there. The bed was comy too.

    Hello Ralph,

Thanks for the 4 stars .. or, are they circles? Either way, the fact that you've taken the time means the world to us.

Glad to hear that you found the best a comfortable addition to your stay, along with the wildlife viewing.

Kangaroo Valley is such a long distance from Fremantle so we're overjoyed you made the decision to stop by. Thanks!
