Book direct w the resort and get the top villa or none at all

2.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Jan 24, 2021via mobile
Stayed here with two families and the room differences are vast. One family booked via stayz and the villa was so incredibly dated with soggy couches and worn out carpet, upholstery, kitchen w no exhaust everything. As per other reviewers, do not book the stayz rooms!
On the other hand, we booked direct w the resort and got one of those top of the hill villas and it was much more better - it was a loft style villa but was it clean? Well basically concierge told us to “take our time” even though we arrived later than check in... and as we got up to our villa the cleaning buggy was just leaving so all the floors were still wet ...insects and bugs everywhere throughout the kitchen and cupboards/bowls/knife cupboards;chocolate wrappers underneath the couch and cushions, previous guests lip balm under neath the bed, Stains on bedsheets, pillows omg just disgusting! The soap pump in the bathroom upstairs didn’t work! Honestly, the fact that I stayed here for only two nights and comparing it to the other families room was my saving grace Had it not been for the more modern villa I would have just left and went home. The restaurant wasn’t open at all, not even for takeaway.
Basically, bring everything with you if u want to stay here.
Can’t say much for service as I never interacted with staff.

The place is a golf course and we saw beautiful kangaroos. That was a real treat!.

We stayed at Blue Gum Cottage 12 which is on the golf course. Literally looking out to a very Relaxing and meditative view of the fairway.... kangaroos, ducks, birds give one a soulful feeling, a perfect spot for people looking to destress and/or commune with nature. The cottage is well equipped, the kitchen generously supplied with basic cooking needs - salt, pepper, olive oil, etc. We enjoyed coffee like being at home away from home with the Nespresso machine ( some capsules were also provided), tea of varied flavour. The cottage is very clean with a spacious decking outside with bbq - perfect for family party...and friends. Communication with the owners was fantastic ... Phil was very responsive to all our calls/queries. Highly recommendable👍👍👍
The amazing Fitzroy falls is only 15 min away. The only issue we had was the instability of internet which is expected somehow in the valley😊

I originally booked for 25th March for my son's wedding, but due to Covid 19,the wedding was postponed until 25th October.
I had booked and paid through Booking.com with a no cancellation clause.
I was worried I had done my money, however, I contacted the office and explained my predicament! They were wonderful and immediately changed my booking without any problem.
Upon arrival on Sunday 25th October I was impressed with the welcoming greeting. The cabin was not quite ready and we were invited to stay inside until the cabin was ready.
When the cabin was ready, there was another surprise... we were upgraded! How lucky!
Cabin 61 sits high on a hill and had everything anyone could ask for! 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom, full kitchen, lovely lounge and dining area and big balcony!
If you need somewhere to stay in Kangaroo Valley..this is the place to be!

We stayed in a one bedroom cabin no 37 for 2 nights. Free parking on site. The cabin
was spacious with a separate bedroom & lounge room. Well equipped kitchen facilities
plus iron & ironing board. Great bush views from the balcony & quiet location.
No room service but that didn’t worry us. Free Wi Fi only in reception area but not the
cabin which was disappointing. The furniture was a bit dated & there was a broken blind, dripping taps & a very noisy fridge. All staff were friendly & pleasant . The
resort is 4 kms from Kangaroo Valley with cafes & restaurants. Location, bush
views & solitude warrant 4 stars but unfortunately the cabin interior which requires
    updating rates 3 stars.

    Hi afong138,

Thanks so much for your review of one of our standard one-bedroom cabins.

We're sorry to hear that they didn't live up to your expectation.

As we are a large property, room service would be impractical, and the lack of wifi comes down to the sheer size of our grounds (the big gum trees don't help either!)

Dated furniture? How could you not love a quick blast back to the past?
Thanks for your observation though, we'll keep it in mind.

Happy with the three-star rating for our standard cabins, it's why we like to refer to them as "rustic" and "original".

Hope to have you back soon so you can enjoy the surroundings and tranquillity once again.

The location doesn’t get better than this. It’s the perfect place to escape and take some time out. The wildlife and the scenery are second to none and the staff on site are lovely. The villa had everything we needed and I look forward to many future visits.

Location great peaceful, kangaroos right on golf course. Some cabins had portable Bbqs on the decks & some did not. Resort in house dining not available during week stays or during Covid 19. Takeaway or dining options at nearby shops limited. Surrounding area had hire options for kayak etc.

Room tip: Ask when booking whether cabins is updated.with modern furnishings, TV etc.
