I absolutely agree on everything with previous review from Brannigans. I have stayed there for 3 nights with my partner and it is exactly what we were looking for - complete seclusion, tranquillity, breathtaking view. The property is located on top of a hill and surrounded by natural bush land. The drive up/down the hill is very scenic, however you have to be a very confident driver and a car should be good enough to handle the steep dirt road.
The house is a 2 level wooden cottage, has really everything you would need during your stay. Both bedrooms are very good size and cozy. However the bed mattress was very uncomfortable , old and needs to be upgraded.
There is one more thing to keep in mind when planning to stay there - things like shampoo, candles (incase of blackout), salt, sugar, olive oil are not provided. We have stayed in few other similar secluded cottages where bread, eggs, milk was always included, that's why I was very surprised not to find even sugar this time.
Although, cafes down the village make great food and coffee, and we didn't mind driving down there.
We really did have excellent 3 nights, would definitely want to go back again.
The views here at incomparable. Its striking stunning and secluded. Exactly what we wanted. However there are some things you need to know if you are coming here. The house is uphill up an approx 2km drive which is basically a steep dirt track. Which is where the lovely seclusion comes from. However you will want an approp car and to be a competent driver. We saw wombats at night and a lyre bird which was amazing. You really are off grid. No internet or mobile up here. The house is well appointed and bedrooms lovely. However areas of it could do with upgrade....low lighting in 2nd bathroom and some bulbs not working. It had everything we needed and lovely home cooked brekky on the veranda was amazing (as was the free champers) but its a small kitchen as a heads up. Also log fire is incredible and you will need it. Cold up there! I will be bk. Incredible hideaway only 10 mins down hill to town for a coffee.
A lovely cottage only a 1km drive from Kangaroo Valley township. After turning off the main road, you travel approximately 2 km upwards along a track over three lovely bridges with running streams, through 3 coded gates, passing the livestock on the property and the plentiful wildlife before arriving at a beautiful oasis. Upon our arrival at dusk, we were greeted by an Euchnida about 1m from our front door. The views over the valley of a morning can be misty but lovely and the valley was sundrenched in the afternoon. The cottage had all of the mod cons and was very comfortable. There is the large family home nearby however the family was away for the time that we were there not that I think that it would be a problem if they were. We were a group of 2 x2 (husband and wife) and we really enjoyed our three days here. We went on lovely drives through the day and had dinner at the Friendly Inn Hotel twice and the food was very good.
