“Great Stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 March 2012

Just got back from 2 night stay.Booked on Landmark website.Check in took less than 5 mins and staff very friendly.Stayed in a 1 bedroom apt(305) which was clean and tidy with natural wear and tear, few scuffs etc on walls but didnt go there to look at the walls!!! Yes we had to wash things before we left but this can take some time to do as my wife has been a housekeeper for a few resorts, hence the charge but this is standard in appartments we have stayed. No bugs ,roaches etc.Had lunch and dinner at bluewater grill at golf club next door(see review). Will return again.oh and got a great deal on the website.

Room Tip: Request water views 3rd floor or higher

We stayed here in March 2012 and enjoyed the locale and amenities. We had a 1 bedroom apartment with a view across the pool to Nelsons Bay. The apartment had a good size TV, lounge, kitchenette, 2 way bathroom and a good size bedroom. There is plenty of car parking and the best of all is it's only a short walk to Nelson Bay town centre and marina and an even shorter walk to the golf club on 1 side and the bowls club on the other - both properties adjoin The Landmark. The fire alarm going off at 3am forcing evacuation was a bit of a bummer but it was a false alarm and that can happen anywhere. A couple of the staff at the front desk acted a little disinterested and seemed to be just going through the motions but none were rude. We would definately stay there again.

We had a wonderful 5 days at the landmark resort. Views were amazing, room was relaxing, the staff were very helpful. We will defitnley retun. The only bad experience we had was at AJ'S RESTAURANT 1st time we went for breaky coffee was stale and bitter, and the food was terrible
So we tried again for dinner to give second chance but was even worse the vegetables were cold, mash potato was so lumpy, the lobster was frozen and chewy and the eye fillet steak was not it was cheap scotch fillet very dry and tuff. We were very disappointed that such a bad restaurant was in a excellent resort

Have just returned from 3 nights in this hotel. It is positioned at the top of town and allows you to park the car undercover and walk to most of the towns attractions. The rooms are clean and have good views of the bay. Ask for rooms between 1 - 10 on each level as they have uninterupted water views. The rooms have fully equiped kitchens and lovey verandah's.You can walk to the many restaurants and cafe's especially down at the Marina. We visited both Rock Lobster and Aqua and had great meals with fantastic service from the staff

Room Tip: As stated above

Last minute tariff was high.
Supposedly new fit-out - not
Signs everywhere - do your own washing up, must put everything back where found or a fee is charged, must take out own rubbish or a fee is charged, if key is lost $70 fee is charged.
A/C very noisy, access way very noisy throughout the night, bedroom like a bunker hot, dark, unventilated, dusty, bed very hard.

We stayed here using a discount voucher. I don't know if this was why we were given a room in a bad location or not. we had a 2 room apartment on the 1 st floor right at the back. not a good spot at ,all. We have a very noisy water drain outside bedroom window and our view, if you can call it that, is of adjoining tennis complex. The whole complex is very noisy. garbage shute is heard in rooms, and the noise carries from room to room too much. Inside the rooms are quite nice. Well appointed and maintained. all the extras are provided and laundry room seems ok, although I did not use it!!! Bowling club is virtually at front door. It is a very good club. great meals in Bistro and pies and pastries to take away are great. club is very convenient and welcomes bowlers. if you play tennis, then this is the place for you. huge tennis complex right next door, or out our window. Easy walk to town centre and marina. walk is down hill to town, so UP hill back. Diggers club is short drive. we were advised great meals here, but we were quite disappointed. we came back to bowling club after meal. Plenty of attractions in area to visit and wonderful waterways to explore on cruises or better still take your own boat. make Main thing with hotel ask for a room with a view OF BAY.

The actual room and layout was good, just needs a good clean up and paint. Mould in bathroom dirty furniture. Spa was good though. I'm glad it was a cheaper rate. Up high above town so be a bit of a walk for oldies like me.
