Although on the Newel Highway, the Country Roads Motor Inn was quiet and restful with a good firm bed. Being under new management, the advertised facilities no longer apply as neither dinner nor breakfast is available. The staff were very friendly and helpful directing us to near by eateries. The tariff was reasonable and access was good.

So peaceful, clean and comfortable with coffee, tea and hit chocolate amenities. Not overpriced and i definitely recommend. Friendly staff and service. I will definitely go back next time I travel through the area.

How fortunate we were to find ourselves in a downpour! Instead of searching for a more expensive overnight stay we chose the first budget hotel we saw. We have stayed in ten motels in our drive up the Pacific and back down the New England. This motel, Country Roads in West Wyalong, has not only been amongst the cheapest but most certainly the best. The room is fresh and inviting. Every requirement we wish for is here. Keep in.mind it is wintertime. It is spacious, nicely decorated and the bed is so inviting I could skip dinner at the Indian restaurant across the road, which we are told is brilliant ( more on that later). Also I'd never consider any road on which to travel between Brisbane and Melbourne other than Dorothea McKeller's New England Highway: spectacular scenery. Her ghost travelled with us

The room we stayed in was great and contained everything we needed. The staff were friendly and helpful and went out of their way to help. One thing that would help would be to supply a plate or dish to use in the microwave.

Room tip: Room was quiet, stay was restful

Very Friendly, clean, comfortable & well situated motel. Megan is delightful & couldn't have been more helpful. Perfect for our overnight stop; Melbourne to Brisbane via Parkes & Tamworth. Our room had 2 x Queen size beds & a lovely hot shower.
