I am dumbfounded that there are so many good reviews on this hotel. I can only assume that they are older, or that people did not stay long enough to notice the filth and disrepair around them. This is the first time that tripadvisor has let me down with their hotel reviews. We had the displeasure of staying at this dump for 4 nights.

I'll start with the problems in our room: We found an Aleve and other items on the floor, which didn't appear to have been vacuumed. The air conditioner had to be turned off or on full blast in order for it to work. Otherwise, it would constantly click and cycle on and off every couple of seconds. We chose to keep it on full blast otherwise it would have been terribly hot since the temperatures were in the 90s. We did freeze while in our room. The microwave would overheat and stop working after a few seconds. The refrigerator plug would randomly come unplugged because it was too loose. So, the food we had in the refrigerator did not stay cold. The drain in the bathtub didn't drain so we were always standing in dirty, soapy water. Every day I had to ask for more towels for our room because they would only leave three towels for our family of four. We removed the ugly brown coverlets on the bed and just kept the white comforter for our stay. The view of the mountains would have been pretty, but the window was quite High and small to accommodate the old fashioned air conditioners. The curtain was broke with the puller for the curtain lying in the corner. One good thing is that we didn't hear any noise when we are trying to sleep besides on our last night where we heard a lot of thumping.

The hotel is very old and they have tried to make it look better by slapping a coat of paint on it. But it's like putting lipstick on a pig. Very sloppy lipstick on a pig. The hotel seems to be primarily used for contractors. I would not have felt safe here without my husband. There were a lot of men walking around and smoking outside while drinking beer. There were tons of beer cans and cigarettes all over the place outside. They also would be out there smoking with the staff. At one point, the evening front desk woman, the only person on duty, left her position and went outside to smoke with one of the customers. Another customer had to wait 5 minutes for her to come back so they could check in. The woman who works at the front desk during the day with red hair parked her car in the handicap parking spot every day. There were only three handicap parking spots and she would always take up one of them. She had no handicap stickers or anything on her car. Pictures of her car are attached.

The gym was locked every day after the first day we were there. We were informed that the equipment did not work. The entire gym area was in total disrepair. The floor was curling up and dangerous.

There is no restaurant at this hotel, even though the information the hotel gives says they have 2 restaurants.

The kids enjoyed the pool and said the water was cold. There is no shade at all and no umbrellas to sit under while outside. Every evening, some contractors pulled up a work truck right next to the pool, smoking, drinking, and barbecuing their dinner. During the day, there was almost always a man outside smoking by the pool.

The washer and dryer are kept in the filthy, moldy stairwell. They were not working when we first tried to use them and we had to wait for the repairman to try to fix them. He had to be called back for our second load as it still didn't work properly.

The breakfast was adequate. Nothing was particularly good. Everything appeared to be frozen and then reheated. All of the staff members would eat the breakfast; the front desk staff, the woman that cleans rooms, the two children of the woman that cleans the rooms, etc... This doesn't bother me. However, when I asked the woman that stocks the breakfast to put some more items out, she said she could not put any more items out for the day. This was around 9 a.m. and breakfast ends at 9:30. Mind you, all of the staff and their families had eaten before us. The room the food was kept in was dirty, food was laying all over, uncovered, and there was a disgusting fly strip hanging from the ceiling with flies stuck all over it. It very hot and crowded in the dining room.

The common areas of the hotel were very dingy and in disrepair. There's a very bad mildew and cigarette odor in the stairwell and in the elevator. There were tons of bugs in all of the light fixtures. Doors, carpets, everything was filthy.

I would suggest that you do not stay at this hotel. Go with the Fairfield Inn down the road. It looks much nicer. Even the Days Inn appeared to be in better repair.

Room Tip: We stayed on the top floor and there wasn't a lot of noise

On our way to Tennessee stopped at one exit... One of the reviews said hard beds. We jumped back on and jumped off at Exit 90... First place lady was too busy on the phone to talk to me. So we can over here. Guy at the desk was very welcoming. We got the room went to dinner, came back showered the fluffy towels were so nice!! Then the bed... Omg! Aaahh!! After sleeping on the floor the night before, where our bed was loaded in the Uhaul. Clean comfy, and cushion soft! I was instantly asleep! Woke to a hot breakfast downstairs. Waffles, eggs, Sausage and everything!!
We will be back!! This was a true Comfy Inn!!!

I stayed at this hotel 10+ times over the past year. Room was clean, noise level low. Breakfast was standard and okay. Front desk staff were friendly. I always felt safe here. No concerns with parking and very convenient to 81 and 78. About 20 min to Hershey.

Room Tip: Upper floor is best, first floor can be noisy at times.

We moved here late at night after switching from an awful hotel in a nearby town. The difference was incredible! This hotel was very clean, our room was comfortable, and the staff was as helpful and friendly as they could possibly be. It was a wonderful change of venue! To make it even better, the price was right. All in all, this hotel provides great value for the area, and you never feel like you are compromising to get the better price.

Room Tip: We had a room right off the lobby and heard nothing all night. Not even during the breakfast hours!

Check-in was a little slow -- staff tended to be in a room behind the desk. But my kids thought the Hershey's hot chocolate in the lobby was amazing. The rooms were good. My only complaint was that their eggs and sausage in the morning were weird. The eggs were these round baked things that seemed like more whites than yolk and the sausage was pale and bland.

Stayed 2 years ago and had problem with wifi connection. Constantly dropped signal. We returned because the other two hotels in Jonestown were full and this was the only place with a vacancy. We had much trouble with wifi cutting out again. After multiple calls to on-line trouble shooter, we gave up. Couldn't even use email! Turns out their router is weak and signal is poor at far end of building. We asked for a more central room and then the wifi worked OK. If wifi is important for you, ask for a room near one of the routers.

Room Tip: Rooms in center of hotel have better wifi. Avoid rooms at end
