We fell in love with Longwood last summer when we moved back to the area and realized what a gem this place is. No matter what season you visit there is something special going on nside and outside. All the guests we have taken here have fallen in love with it. We have increased our membership so we can go when ever we want and take a guest for free. On our last visit the orchid display was gorgeous. Have not eaten at the restaurant yet, maybe Valentine's Day, but the mushroom soup at the cafeteria is great. For families in nice weather there is a great picnic area. We have several nice planst in out house now that we bought on sale at the gift shop.
Longwood is my cure for SAD, when I get tired of the cold and snow, I pick a sunny day and visit the warm Conservatory and sit for awhile in the enclosed warm DuPont house atrium looking out at the snow. Don't miss the wall of green, a corridor with walls covered in green plants with doors leading to modern individual rest rooms and family rest rooms.

One of the most beautiful places you could ever visit.  From the gardens to the fountain show, to the history, peace and serenity.  There isn't one aspect that is not pleasing to the senses.

I've been to this gorgeous garden in the summer but also in the winter when they decorate the greenhouses and gardens with lights and holiday decorations. I would absolutely go again next year. It was a romantic night with my boyfriend that was 100% worth the time it took to drive there.

Nice place tomtake a morning walk if you are a member, lunch used to be great - last time I went it was less than average - and for the price we paid - not so good.
