I stayed in this hotel 15 years ago and had a wonderful room and stay. I was was excited to return this April 2012. I made reservations for a basic Tavern Room to save some money. This time, the hotel was very outdated even with it's county decor! Thing were old (not in the good antique way) The first room they had us in had a pull out Murphey bed that had dust bunnies and was discusting filth behind the bed ! The carpet was old and tattered.

After switching rooms we got a better room but the furniture's upolstery had stains, the curtains were full of dust and the bathroom caulking was moldy and cracked in spots. The hotel needs to do some up keep and maintenence on the rooms. The hotel advertises Luxury accomidations which our room was not! They charge a lot of money even for these basic rooms which I felt were not up to par. The staff at the hotel was very nice though! We had a nice stay because the Village is still a wonderful place to be! . This is the only hotel in Peddlers Village so there is not much of a choice. The Village has kept up it's appearance but the Golden Plough Inn can use some work.

Room Tip: Choose a room that is on the third floor so you dont hear the noise from above. Also try to pick a r...

We have been going to New Hope for many years and have never stayed at the Golden Plough before, i will now NEVER stay anywhere else. We visited for my birthday in November and our anniversary in January. It is amazing. The rooms are very clean and SO SPACIOUS...We had a refrigerator and fireplace in the rooms which you cannot compare to anywhere else that I have ever stayed in New Hope. The shops are very quaint at Peddlers Village, where you can always find a little trinket to bring home. We had dinner at the Cock and Bull restaurant both times, once we were fortunate enough to stay on a Thursday evening and ate at the King Henry's Feast. I am not a buffet person at all, but I cannot tell you how delicious this was. For seafood lovers' it's a delight! There is unlimited Lobster and shrimp. Cooked to perfection and delicious...We received vouchers upon checkin to use and got 2 for 1. I cannot wait to go back to the Golden Plough!

Room Tip: We stayed both times in the Main building. Perfect location!

We have been to Peddler's village several times and now go at least twice a year. We always stay at the Golden Plough Inn. The staff is very accommodating and the rooms are very quaint and cozy. Rooms are very clean. I highly recommend staying here if you plan to visit the area. New Hope is also just a short drive away.

This place is a fabulous bargain! We stayed in a Queen Deluxe room that included a whirlpool so large it could be a hot tub and a seriously romantic setting (fireplace and light dimmers)..upon arriving we were also given a free bottle of wine, snacks, meal vouchers and coupons for the area. The only thing that doesn't make this an excellent rating is that the area around the whirlpool had a broken door that they should have fixed before we arrived. Overall it was fabulous and we will visit again. Quite charming and romantic without the forced interaction on a B&B

Room Tip: The deluxe is worth paying for

While this may not be the place for everyone, as a senior citizen I value the ambiance of the Inn and especially the restaurants (especially Cock & Bull), shops, and scenery of the adjoining Peddler's Village. In particular, I was happy with the thin blanket (in addition to bed spread) and controllable room A/C. We stayed in the main building with an elevator, but be aware that other rooms are located throughout the village and may not have an elevator. Assigned parking for the main building is a block away. Also, the TV's (at least in our room) were small, but reception was good with very many channels available. Room prices are high in general, but they have an excellent 1/2 price deal in winter and early spring (Sun-Thurs) that includes BOGO at Cock & Bull each night plus $7 breakfast voucher, per person per day, plus small bottle of wine plus many coupons. There are also deals during the summer but not in the fall. I would definitely return again.

Room Tip: Main Building was nice, but other locations may be good too, albeit without an elevator.

The Golden Plough Inn at Peddler's Village is the perfect getaway for anyone looking to relax, shop, and dine in a quaint, country-like town. We stayed in the main house, but there are other rooms scattered around the village above the shops. We checked in first and were then given an assigned parking space for our duration--very convenient! The staff was incredibly friendly and the room immaculate. Our room was complete with a kitchen stocked with the essentials--plates, cups, cutlery, etc...There were also vouchers for restaurant discounts (including one for breakfast the next morning) and a complementary bottle of wine! With a multitude of shops and plenty of options for dining, Peddler's Village is the perfect weekend getaway. Our overnight stay was pleasant and we would definitely stay here again.

I've found many people that go to Peddler's Village for the Quaint Shops & Restaurants, are not aware of the Glonden Plough Inn & their accommodations. There are numerious rooms or should I say mini apartments all around the village on the 2nd floor of those cute little shops! Beautifuly decorated to resemble Colonial Times, with canopy beds, whirlpool tubs & firplaces. Normally breakfast and discounts on shopping are included with each room price and some packages even include dinner. On our stays we like... late night wine tasting and evening strolls thru the Village. We even wake up early to catch the Sunrise with a cup of coffee from the Coffee Shop and another stroll & window shop, before all the Tourist arrive!

Room Tip: Ask a room over the shops, instead of at the Inn it's self.
