This place is closed now for good unless someone wants to purchase it and reopen it. Used to be the place for beating the heat.

I was researching places to go around Ligonier, and discovered that the beach has been closed due to pump house problems for at least the 2018 season, perhaps indefinitely.
Be sure to check its status before you go by looking it up online.

This is one of the oldest pools in PA it open in 1925. It's huge and sits in the mountains so the water is COLD and refreshing on a hot day. They allow floats and will rent you one if you don't have one. There are chairs and umbrellas placed around the pool for your use. There is a area with sand for the kids. Some weekends they have a band or DJ. They have a snack bar and a bar restaurant. Buffet is offered on weekends or you can order off the menu and there are plenty of drink specials. Food is surprisingly very good for being at a pool and priced reasonable. You can NOT bring your own food or drinks into the pool area. I really like this pool and come here often to swim it is so big you never feel crowded even if everyone would bring a float. It's clean, the owners are making improvements every year. The pool is open 11-7 Everyday. This year it was $8 adult $5 for kids 1-7 age no charge for under 1.
