“Decent Hotel, but nothing special”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 February 2012

I've stayed here 6 weeks in the last 6 months for work. The staff is friendly (some of them know me now), and the rooms are large, but nothing special. The breakfast is good, definitely a perk to staying at the hotel. The hot tub is always warm too. If this wasn't the closest hotel to work for me, I probably wouldn't stay here every time, but it works just fine. The rooms could use some updating. In the summer, the prices get up to about $129, which seems a little high for this hotel.

Just got back from a night at Holiday Inn Express, Lititz, Pa. The staff was friendly, check-in was fast even though we were early. The room was nice, the pool and jacuzzi were nice, clean, and (unlike many hotels) the water in the pool was warm. They offer a breakfast which had a nice variety, sausage gravy, biscuits, bagels, cereal, eggs, milk...a great way to start the day. Will stay there again when the occasion arrises. Conveniently located to the airport, town, shopping mall, and many local restaurants.

We've been staying at this hotel several times a year since 2005. My in-laws live in senior housing nearby so we choose this hotel for the location. We are members of the priority club.
The price of the hotel never seems to go below $100/night and sometimes up to $135/night. Over the past 6+ years, we've watched this hotel slowly go downhill.
The hotel is just your average hotel - certainly not worth the cost, but we are stuck because of the location.
This last stay over the Christmas holidays was the worst. The room had cobwebs in almost every corner, the light in the hallway flickered, the bathroom needed a deep cleaning.
At the end of the stay I wanted to fill out the comment card on the desk in the room, but it had already been filled out by a previous guest.
I did mention the light when we checked out.
As a priority member we get a little gift bag when we check in. It hasn't changed in 5 years - a bottle of water from Costco, a granola bar and a local chocolate covered pretzel. We've never been given an upgraded room.
The rooms tend to be noisy - you can hear the water running from the rooms above and around you. The business center has one computer, which has to be the slowest computer I've ever used.
The gym is average, but things aren't always working correctly.
The indoor pool is very nice and the morning breakfast is your standard fare. Although the coffee is available 24 hours, I rarely have been able to get hot coffee in the evening. At least there is a coffee maker in the room.
It would be nice if they could add a small refrig and microwave since the hotel caters to family.
The people at the front desk are friendly.
I wish I could go to another hotel, but given the location I'll keep staying here as long as my in-laws are nearby.

Room Tip: Request a room on upper floor so you want hear the floors above and also request one that isn't...

While this hotel was only about 10 miles from the Rockvale Outlets that can mean 20 minutes or more depending on traffic. It was my first time in the area and honestly getting around was crowded. There were plenty of hotels closer to the outlets if that is where you are planning to stay. The one plus to this location however is if you plan on doing more than the outlets. This hotel was also close to Park City Mall which is a great mall for the most part.

The hotel is pet friendly but the walls are thin here and any barking or children crying will be heard. The breakfast offered is plentiful when stocked. The wait staff was not to eager to replace empty trays.

This hotel was very clean except for the carpets. I took my shoes off n the carpets felt grimy and disgusting. I did not get a good nights sleep at this place because of the noise. Between the dog barking in the room next door, the noise from the laundry room downstairs and the loud banging outside I was woken up several times during the night. I had booked a 2 night stay, but decided to leave after one night. The hotel room did not even have a fridge in it so we couldn't even store drinks which for $100 a night is ridiculous. We checked out early and the hotel staff didn't even bother to ask how our stay was.

We reserved a non-smoking room because one in our party has cancer that is caused by smoking and/or 2nd hand smoking. But the vent in the bathroom was blowing cigarette smoke into the room. We had to ask the staff to block the vent which they did by taping a sheet of paper over it. We were assured the entire floor is non-smoking but clearly the vent system is independent of the floor smoking assignments.

Breakfast at the hotel we pretty decent, not restaurant type, but better than some continental breakfast offerings.

We wanted 2 beds but the suite had only one king bed and a pull-out couch. The couch was soft and bumpy, like a Seinfeld episode.

Filthy hotel. 2nd floor hallway constantly smelled like smoke and a dead animal. The carpet in the hallway was dirty and the tile floor near the elevator stop was sticky. Elevator walls and floor were always dirty. Housekeeping was terrible - bed linen was changed twice in 13 days; used my dirty towels to wipe down the floor; never dusted the room.
Front desk staff was sullen and not hospitable. Breakfast was standard HI fare and had decent hours for service but certainly not enough to overcome the poor and sub par performance of other areas for $130 a night!
