The Fitzwater Station was the place for the family reunion. The older members had great memories of this place and we had to meet here. I liked it. Our waitress was great. Food was good and the reminiscing was Priceless. If your in the area stop in and support a local businesses.

This is my third visit to the Fitz, and a few years since the second.

So much has changed for the better. The menu is now concise in spread and presentation. The goal is fresh food and specialization in comfortable surroundings, and it works!

For old times sake, however, I wish they could include an entree with "Smoochie Sauce," just because that was a reach to the historical roots of the Fitz.

Ambiance at the Fitz remains the charming bohemian by the Schuykill canal energized by local culture.

Service.... well Angie, our server, was top drawer all the way. She even took time to chat with us about the history of the Fitz both recent and beyond. That made a very positive experience for my dining partner and me. Plus Angie made a spot on Beef Eater Martini for her (my companion.). A sizable improvement over past service experiences.

To close, the Fitz does feel haunted by the barge men who once frequented it. Who knows, maybe Uber drivers will take over and vault the place into another century.

Let's wish the Fitz another hundred years!

Great place to go if you don't want service and love being ignored. Walked out after 20 minutes at the bar. Don't waste your time!!!

Place is so easy to rent from, 40 all day for kayak. They assist you getting in and you can have a map if you would like. The loop goes up canal then you get out at lock 60 walk to Schyukill (around 50-100 ft) and take that up to port sign (near power lines) then get back in canal and 5-10 mins your back where you stated . Great route. They have other socks to get in if you have your own kayak , which we did so we got ourselves in which was easy. Parking lot is limited , maybe like 15 cars and many park on street or grass. Food at restaurant is AWESOME. I had the turkey BLT twice now and it was excellent both times , the tomato basil bread makes it 100x better
Perfect food for after a 2.5 hr trip of kayaking. They have 3 types of fishbowls as well and beer on tap and bottles a bar staff is sweet. Food and drinks are really good I would recommend to anyone.
Nice outdoor seating on deck and a chill indoor bar/restaurant area that makes you feel like your up the mountains by a lake .

This joint is fading fast, too bad! Years ago food was really good.....atmosphere stinks, bar needs a renovation big time! I can remember spending most Saturday afternoons there eating and drinking the day away.
