The location of this hotel is perfect as a home base for a visit to Pittsburgh. Just outside the city it was super easy to get to with plenty of free parking. We felt like we were out of the city but close enough to get to and from any attraction we planned to visit.
The hotel is well cared for and our room was in very good condition. Our Queen Suite was actually a room with two full (not queen) beds and a sofa bed. The pool was open and you had to make timed reservations. The water was cool, but the kids didn't mind.
Breakfast was available each morning. It was kept behind the desk and you just had to ask for what you wanted. Muffins, fruit, and breakfast sandwiches. We wished there was a bit more variety such as yogurt and cereal.
The problem with this hotel is the mixed clientele. Our second night was terrible. There was a large party til close to 1am. Very loud music, shouting, singing, etc. The walls are thin and probably the entire hotel was up all night. The morning greeted us with the very strong smell of pot up and down the hall. Our teenagers shook the whole thing off as amusing but young families and older adults might struggle with this environment.
The staff we encountered were super friendly and helpful. There is no way they didn't know about the party but probably felt they could do little short of calling the police.
Despite all the positives, not sure we would return. There are other reviews that describe similar noise and partying on a regular basis. If this delightful hotel can't get this under control, they will not succeed.
