You can Bank on a great stay here!

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Aug 10, 2024via mobile
Housed in a former Federal Reserve Bank building, the Pittsburgh Drury Plaza in Downtown Pittsburgh was excellent. Knowledgeable and friendly front desk staff assisted us many times during our Sunday-Thursday stay.

Let’s face it, a big thing when traveling is where and when your next meal will be. Think of how much time and stress you’ll save by having breakfast and dinner already decided. The meals are designed to appeal to many, so if you have particular dietary restrictions, it may not suit.

Elevators and anywhere above the lobby and basement are accessible by key cards only, which gives an extra level of security.

If you want friendly staff, clean rooms with comfortable beds and pillows, and 2 meals a day available to you, Drury (Plaza-Downtown Pittsburgh), is always the correct choice!
Date of stay: July 2024
Room Tip: Valet parking only, which is pricey.

How to make your kids happy; eat a light dinner at Kickback Hour (our kids also loved the popcorn machine in the lobby) then go have an extravagant dessert at the Milkshake Factory a few blocks away away. Decent free breakfast buffet also helped us save $$. Friendly, efficient staff. This is an old Federal Reserve Building, so be sure to go downstairs & see the old vaults.

Room tip: Only has valet parking; much cheaper large Greyhound Garage a few blocks away.

The valet driver Seth fixed my boyfriend’s flat tire by helping him put a donut on his car, he even told us the closest shop to get new tires in the morning. The happy hour was amazing, great food and attentive bartender. The breakfast manager was also super friendly and even brought me a spoon. The front desk attendant upgraded our room since it was my boyfriend’s birthday. I would recommend this hotel, great location and friendly and above and beyond staff.

Staff was friendly and consistently service oriented. Breakfast was good and "happy hour" on our day of arrival was a great bonus. We drove from NYC - 8 hours - and were tired and hungry. We stayed in King Suite which was huge. We especially appreciated having a separate living room to kick our heels up after a full day of touring on foot. The lounge on the 8th floor offered another option for relaxing after an exhausting day on our feet.

Disliked · The quality of the food at the 4th District, a bar on the premises left much to be desired. However, the staff was just as customer service oriented as all the staff we encountered during our stay.

The staff were super friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was terrific. The hotel is conveniently located. I arrived with my bicycle via Amtrack, and they allowed me to keep the bike in my room, which was very convenient and secure. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone planning to bike the GAP trail.

I stay at the Drury very frequently for work trips in Pittsburgh; so I view hotels as a place to sleepover and prepare for work while maintaining a sense of “I know what I’m getting” each day.

In the middle of this four day stay, after a long and busy day at work, I come back into my room to see that my bed has been made (standard by many hotels)

But I also see at the foot my bed, neatly folded (as best as it could be) my “woobie” which is a military issued blanket that I travel with. That blanket has been with me over 10 years throughout my time in the service and after. It has been with me through the absolute peaks and valleys of my life experiences.

I would have not bat an eye, or cared if I found it on the ground, or balled up on the chair. But I could not, and still haven’t stopped smiling at that level of care that was taken with it. I’m sure it looked like a beat up questionable old camo blanket, but to me that’s been my home and warmth for many stressful situations.

Thank you Sony for such care!
