Historic stay in downtown Pittsburgh

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 4 weeks ago
Absolutely beautiful building and accommodations. Husband and I spent 1 night. Our room on 3rd floor was excellent. Bed was comfortable and bathroom was great. Hot shower and towels were fluffy and soft. We had a couple drinks and snacks from MONKS bar, which were tasty. Definitely stay again if ever in area.
Date of stay: August 2024
Room Tip: Perhaps get room on back side, may be quieter.

Our room was SPOTLESS and well-outfitted (fridge, safe, coffee maker, etc.). The history of this place has been lovingly restored with many modern influences. Although the walls are solid, you can hear everything that’s going on in the hallway, but it was still pretty quiet, and we had a good night’s sleep. We enjoyed the “grab-and-go” breakfast, and the courtyard is an amazing space! We were in town one night for a concert at PNC Park—it was an easy 20 minute walk there and back (and, yes, we walked back after 11pm with zero issues or concerns—on the way to PNC, my GPS took us under the highway overpass, but it was more pleasant on the way back to just stay on the main road until the last underpass). We would definitely stay here again any time we’re in Pittsburgh!

What an absolute gem of a place. A converted Benedictine monastery with a charm and comfortable feel. The courtyard was wonderful to enjoy a beer in the afternoon with my nephew. The staff was absolutely wonderful. I had an very early departure the next day (4:30 am!) but when I went to check out they had my breakfast ready in a togo bag plus a fresh brewed pot of coffee my early drive. The free parking across the street was very convenient. I highly recommend The Priory Hotel for your stay in Pittsburgh!

My husband & I stayed at this lovely establishment for an overnight. Everyone was so accommodating and made us feel like home. The rooms were very clean and roomy. We were there from a Sunday to Monday and it quiet, no loud noises. It was so nice to have breakfast outside on the beautiful patio. We love history and that it has. You will not be disappointed.
We would stay here again.

Hubby and I stopped overnight to catch a Pirates game and stayed at the Priory. The renovations were nicely done and original details were retained (the door hinges!!). The mattresses were a bit firm, room was spotless, and the area was quiet. We had our breakfast on the outdoor courtyard - such a beautifully done area! The whole place is elegantly done and I can’t wait to stay here again!
On a side note, as others stated, the outlying area is a bit dicey but we never felt fearful. Oh and there’s free parking! Hard to find that in the ‘Burg!

Very well maintained boutique hotel. King room was fairly large. Suites were all booked when we were there. The neighborhood is slightly dicey, but we had no troubles what so ever. Outside liquor is prohibitted, but there is a small bar on the premises with somewhat over-priced drinks, but no worse than most hotel bars. Several interesting restaurants nearby.

Room tip: They sometimes host musical performers in the courtyard. It was a very good time.
