Great older hotel.

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 4 weeks agovia mobile
I’ve stayed here before. Great location in the d/t area, but easy access out if need be. Most of my work is in the Canonsburg area.
The hotel itself is older, but all the modern amenities. Good restaurant and bar. Mtg rooms. Price is reasonable.
The room I had was on the 19th floor, nice view. The room was, that I was upgraded to - a king suite - fancy- was big and roomy, too much for me, but nice for a long stay or with family. A/C is so cold. Bed was comfy. Bathroom a bit small and they do need to upgrade the toilet - short round old style. I’m tall a short toilet is a real issue. But that said, a nice room.
There is a mini fridge and microwave but randomly sitting in a vacant spot in the room. They could step that up as the room is big.

The one issue I did have was I got here on Labor Day. The restaurant and bar were closed for the holiday. That was a bit of an issue as I planned on eating in and having a drink at the bar. Additionally, my room came with a $30 credit for bar and restaurant, but they were closed so nothing to do with the credit. And couldn’t use it on parking.
But these are mgmt issues, not the comfort.
Just make plans if it’s a holiday.
I’ll stay here again.

We really enjoyed this stay. The pool was neat—it had an indoor portion and an outdoor portion and you could swim between the two spaces. My kids loved that.

Checkin was quick and of course the cookies were a big hit. The fitness centre was big and clean.

The room was clean and quiet and the beds were comfortable. I liked that the whole hotel was surrounded by trees.

I was here for the annual US Navy SeaBee
Veterans of America convention. Not only were the convention meeting rooms outstanding, but the entire hotel, rooms, and other facilities were top notch. And the whole staff....Mitchell, Farid, Jessie, Jaline, and anyone else who I forgot to mention; were all very wonderful people. My three service animal pet rabbits, were also well accommodated and made comfortable. The breakfast buffet was delicious, with more than enough to eat. My only two concerns are that there are no guest laundry facilities on the premises, nor are there any recycling bins for plastics. I will give it a top rating of two rabbit ears up!!

stayed here for 2 nights for my son's baseball tournament. chose this hotel because a lot closer (15 minutes one way from fields) than what the team booked a blocked of rooms.
I did read a lot of not so good reviews and had my expectations low. I guess having expectations low it made our stay ok.

- check in was a breeze, given a warm walnut chocolate chip cookie as well as pre-packed gluten free cookies. the front agents were nice and accommodating.
- the room was on a small scale but it did work for us because most of the time we were out for games. only there to sleep/rest.
bathroom was tiny. if someone was using the toilet and someone accidentally opened the door the person sitting for sure would have a bruised knee.
shower's water pressure wasn't strong to my liking.
- parking was free and had lots of spots. we were on TOWER 2. my husband found the additional parking lot accessed via Andersen Drive. an easy access to our room on the 5th floor.
- not a lot of outlet. I think only two outlets and they had extension cords plugged on em so you can charge/use multiple electronic.
- ac unit was hard to control. we leave it on when we leave during the day then turn off at night. IT WAS FREEZING!
-we only used the elevators a couple of times because we were parked at the additional parking lot and at both times it came quick although they can have the ac running at the elevators. it was hot and humid inside. hopefully no one get stuck in there or they would faint in under 15 minutes.

what they can improve on
-signage of the hotel entrance. we came around 9:30pm and the sign wasn't lit. my daughter saw the ASADO sign but not they double tree hotel above it. can make it a lot bigger so that patrons wouldn't miss the ramp going up to the hotel entrance. also the sign a few feet away before the ramp was covered by bushes. maintenance/groundskeeper could cut those bushes.
-more directions to which hallway leads to what tower, they have 3 towers.
-additional power outlets would be good. most people now have multiple electronics that needed to be charged at the same time.
-I did use the hotel chat twice (day before we came and the day after check-in) but no one responded until we left.
-digital key was requested the day before arrival (checked in using the app) was never activated at all and was given 1 key card only.
-asked for extra towels but was only given 3. the housekeeper SHOULD respect the LATER PLEASE sign. we had it hanging outside our door and she still knocked to check if we were ready to vacate the room, it wasn't even past 11am.
-currently trying to get a hold of the front desk for a package I requested to ship at the hotel (didn't make it before our check out, so trying to arrange to redirect it to my home) I have called 3 times and no one has picked up the phone.

Unless there is a huge drop on the price, will think twice before staying here again.

**if staying at tower 2 choose the higher number of room so you'll be far from the hwy 376 noise. room numbers 508 and up should work.

Room tip: Ask to stay at Tower 2 or 3 , 5th floor. Lots of parking. Use Andersen Drive. Go up the hill, first drive way on the right.

Where do I begin on this nightmare? We arrived early and our room was not ready which was fine. We were permitted to go to the pool and enroute Stopped to fill a small cooler with some ice. Well, the ice machines on the second third fourth and sixth floor were all out of order. We did finally find ice on the fifth floor after asking a housekeeper which floors ice machine worked and she advised us the seventh floor well the seventh floor doesn’t exist so we went to the fifth floor The only floor we skipped on our journey and luckily did get ice . we then went to get in the elevator, and the main elevators were out of order at the hotel so we took the stairway to the pool and relaxed in a rundown pool area with what seem to be a clean pool, but unfortunately by the landscape of concrete and old pool chairs, and recliners made the pool even worse than it actually was the pool seemed clean but did have a lot of bugs and clumps of hair floating around which was pretty gross. I would give the pool a rating of three out of 10 we were advised our room was ready so we went to the car with a luggage rack loaded up our bags and proceeded to the one working elevator in the hotel we got stuck on the elevator for approximately three minutes with another couple and finally after several attempts to go up one flight, the elevator started to move thank God because it had to be over 80° inside the elevator we did not take the elevator the rest of the day because we thought we may get stuck inside the dilapidated elevator. Arriving at the room I will admit it was fairly clean. It had a nice TV poor Internet service old phone remote control was kind of gross with no battery cover on the back beds seem clean normal hotel room small bathroom, but our sink knobs were not connected for an unknown reason so luckily I was able to connect them and get them to work. I would give the room, including the bathroom and overall score of four out of 10 the front desk people either didn’t speak English or pretended. They didn’t understand what we were saying when asked several questions and when called from the room for assistance with the Internet the overall condition of this hotel although it looks fairly nice from the outside overall condition was extremely poor I seriously would have to give , this hotel a rating of two out of 10 or one out of five it was that bad . I am totally shocked that Hilton would have a hotel up and running with not only dilapidated conditions, but unsafe, considering most guests were very very upset and complaining about the elevator situation. We ended up leaving and not staying because when we attempted to leave the hotel and go into town. The one working elevator was then out of service. Yes, the one we almost got stuck on was now out of service completely so there was only stairways to go up and down, a friend of mine was on the eighth floor and had to go up flights of stairs with a recent hip replacement and the front desk could care less and had no response or answer when asked about the elevators or any other conditions in the hotel. What a waste of money , I don’t even know if I’m getting my money back because they couldn’t answer any questions so right or wrong. I literally walked away from the front desk rather than cause a major scene. They should be ashamed of themselves. What a total disgrace we will never stay at a Hilton ever again . I would’ve rather stayed at a trashy hotel with terrible ratings because at least I would’ve known what I was paying for.

Room tip: Stay away unless they’re charging you $20 a night because this place is awful.

Great location and potential. Terrible management make this a bad experience. Leaving 1 star so management may actually do something about it. Let me explain:

- they don’t answer the phone for some reason, waited on the line for over 10 minutes (staffing issue/training?)

- the gym doesn’t have any ventilation or AC, making it unbearable to be in the room

- elevators are broken or limited to only one, which makes going up or down extremely slow and inconvenient (especially during rush hours)

- I checked into my room (smelled like cigarette smoke) and had to request a different room (inconvenient)

- they are remodeling and many of the rooms are outdated with poor shower heads and loud ac units that keep you up at night

- the breakfast is pretty good, I will give them that

I expect better from a hotel charging premium rates. Do better Hilton doubletree. These are issues that are easy to address.
