“BEWARE! Do Not Stay Here!”
Reviewed 27 March 2012

This hotel is right next to a very busy and noisy highway. After being on the road all day, all we wanted was something clean and quiet. Well, we received neither!
After reading reviews and comments from several hotels in the area, we thought this hotel was going to be the better choice. Not so.
Upon check-in, we were told that there weren't many rooms available and received a "suite". It was near 10pm, we were tired and just wanted to get off the road.
All night we heard constant, loud, unending traffic noise. Add that to the elevator shaft that ran alongside our bedroom wall! It was a very rough night and not very "sweet".
The room wasn't as clean as it should've been. It felt dirty and smelled old and musty. Luckily I had a can of Lysol.
Breakfast was not that great either.
I would never stay here again. With all the other hotels to chose from, I don't know if I would stay at any other Holiday Inn Express.

I stayed here Sunday night after flying in late to PIT. This is your typical fare Holiday Inn Express - all of the basic requirements without a lot of of frills.

The only thing I dinged them on is that their towels are as stiff as a board and rough as sandpaper. I stay over 200 nights a year in hotels, and I would guarantee that these are by far the worst towels I've experienced to date.

Friendly staff, location is convenient to the freeway, breakfast is included as always at Expresses. The rack rate seems high, but I didn't shop pricing at any other local hotels so my perception may be poorly based.

I cannot comment on the cost/value of this because we had a complimentary stay, offerred by a local business. However, we really enjoyed this suite. It was very large, modern decor, immaculately clean. It included two large flat screen tvs. We had a king size, comfortable bed. We had to miss the breakfast service because we had an early flight to catch at the airport. What I found most helpful was we could park our car in their car lot, use their free shuttle to the airport, then use the shuttle after we returned from our trip. The shuttle service opens at 4:00 AM and is available till very late at night, perhaps 1:00 AM. That is hard to beat.

The staff were friendly and helpful.

This is a great place to stay overnight if you are going to be out of town for about a week or so. you can park you car here included with your night stay and get a free shuttle to the airport. Beds are comfortable and they have an indoor pool although not to clean looking and could be redone ( looks old and shabby) but a nice way to start vacation early. they have a resturant although I never ate at it yet. They do have a weight room and a coffee station for early risers to catch the shuttle to airport, a bonus for me is they have vanilla creamer at the station. If you mention that you booked through apple vacations for your getaway you receive a small discount.

If you are doing business or need a nice place to stay for the evening in the greater Pittsburgh Airport area, this is your place. The Holiday Inn Express has nice, clean rooms with comfortable beds. The staff is beyond courteous and will go to great lengths to make sure your stay is relaxing. There is a complimentary shuttle service that will take the guests to/from the airport or any of the local area restaurants, malls, shops, etc. In addition to the comfortable rooms, there is a hot tub to either warm or relax those tired muscles from the cold outside. The only semi-con I have was that the ample complimentary breakfast wasn't as good as it had been in the past. The food seemed a bit stale. Hopefully this was just an isolated incident and not the new norm. In the past, I have always had nice breakfasts with more than enough choices for just about any traveller.

our son is starting college in the fall at near by Robert Morris University. We decided to explore the area by staying overnight and treating ourselves to a king jacuzzi room at this hotel. The first thiing that we do after checking into any hotel room is pull back the sheets on the bed and look for bedbugs. Unfortunately, we found one and promptly put a glass over it and called the front desk. Our room was changed and the new one was bug free but we were left feeling uncomfortable about the hotel. The jacuzzi tub could have been cleaner. We filled it up and ran it twice before the water was free of floating bits of ? Also in both the rooms, the locks on the sliding glass doors to the pool area were broken with only a eye and hook type latch keeping it secure. So even though our room rate was reduced by 50%,we would so much rather have had a nicer room and better overall experience at this hotel.

I would like to Thank you for your comments and suggestions for our Hotel. I was Manager on duty the weekend you stayed. When I arrived at work, I was told of the "Bedbug". Myself and our Housekeeping Manager went to the room in question and found the Glass on the bed. We both are trained in spotting Bedbugs. In our opinion it was not a Bedbug, but to absoutley sure, we put the bug in the glass you had over it and had a expert look at it.It was confirmed that it was not a Bedbug. We also looked for all the signs of Bedbugs infesting a room and found none. If you find one, there are always more and we found none. We respect your comments and want to assure you that it was not a Bedbug. Thank you for staying with us and we hope to have you back. I can be reached at the Hotel number if you would like to talk to me.

Respectfully,

Ralph Davis,

We made our reservation here because it had the lowest pet fee in the area, $25 per pet and we had two small dogs with us. We were driving from NC to NY on December 23, 2011 and this was our stop over. We were given a room on the first floor and since I am a Platinum member and used points, they upgraded us to a one bedroom suite, which was fantastic. We were at the back and our window did not face the parking lot, which was perfect. It wasn't far from the door outside so it was easy to walk the dogs when needed. The room was a bit dark; however it was clean. The only issue is the toilet was right against the wall and every time I stood up it would bang against the wall!. The only problem we had was a room around the corner was having what seemed to be a party and we could hear every word. We even heard them say "I hear a dog barking" because they were so loud they scared the dogs! We ended up calling the front desk and within 10 minutes they stopped being so loud.

Room Tip: If you bring pets, ask for a first floor room with a window that doesn't face the parking lot!
