We spent all day here and still didn't see everything. But we really enjoyed the exhibitions that we did have time for. Favorites included the new exhibit on the Heinz company, the collection of carpenter's planes, glassmaking in western PA, and the history of innovation in Pennsylvania. There's lots of stuff for kids as well as adults scattered throughout. My advice is to carefully consider all of the current exhibitions when you arrive, and then prioritize your time according to your personal interests. Before you start, be sure to take a few minutes to read about the history of this amazing building (look for the signboard in an alcove near the first-floor elevator); it's amazing how the building functioned when it was an ice warehouse, with trains coming through on the ground floor and horses stabled on the fourth floor! There is a cafe onsite with lots of drinks and some pre-made sandwiches and salads if you need a break.
