Description: Welcome to IL Pizzaiolo, home of truly authentic Neapolitan Cuisine. IL Pizzaiolo roots trace back to Pittsburgh circa 1996, with an original credo: create Neapolitan pizza and other authentic dishes using old-world techniques and the highest quality ingredients available. More than a decade later, we still make everything on our menu the authentic Neapolitan way: From our hand-made sweet fennel sausage, meatballs, and fresh pasta, to our fresh mozzarella and antipasto vegetables. If it isn’t hand-made, it’s imported from only the finest artisans, cheesemakers, and Salumeria. Our Mozzarella di Bufala is imported directly from Naples. We cook only Pasta di Gragnano – the finest dried pasta in the world – always to order, always al dente. We bake our authentic Neapolitan Pizzas at 1000° in our handcrafted, wood-fired brick oven for 90 seconds using DOP San Marzano tomatoes and extra virgin olive oil on our perfectly leavened dough. The result is in an authentic Neapolitan culinary experience with integrity. Buon appetito!

This Restaraunt features home made pasta and authentic Neapolitan pizza. The cocktail menu is creative and the service is great. You are met by wonderful kitchen smells when you walk in. The buffalo mozzarella is made there and is creamy. Great combination when visiting Market Square or One PPG Place in the winter.

Il Pizzaiolo in Market Square, and the original restaurant in Mt. Lebanon turn out classic Italian bistro fare with thoughtful sophistication in a vibrant atmosphere brimming with great food, good wine and an eclectic mix of patrons. Don't miss the brick oven pies and sharable appetizers!

We like going there for weekend dinners to sit outside. The pizza is great and very European ( as opposed to American Italian pizza), the pasta is also great. Price-wise on the higher end, but for us definitely worth it.

Sat outside due to the warm weather. After living in Italy, and missing the food, I was happy to find this establishment. This is not American pizza, it is Italian. Thin, perfectly baked, wonderful homemade sauce and fresh mozzarella di buffala. Also indulged in the bucatini al'amatriciana pasta. I dream of that meal! Great for lunch or dinner. More of a sit down place, allow time to dine properly and people watch. Go! You'll love it!
