Hope Street in Bristol, R.I. particularly "Loafer's Corner" is where the locals hang out and discuss antique cars, recent local news, people watch, etc. Loafer's Corner is on the intersection of Hope and State Street. When in town look for the locals sitting on the benches and we will provide any information necessary to out of towners.

We spent the day in Bristol, RI and enjoyed it very much. It's a great place to walk around and there are several stores to browse.....and buy too, if you so desire. My favorite place is always sitting by the water. We always stop in the dog store to buy our dog a treat. Lots of fun!

What a beautiful street. It is lined on both sides with huge double baskets of begonias. There is a red, white and blue line pained down the center of the street (I believe from a Fourth of July parade). Beautiful tree lined street with stately historic homes. The vibrant town library is located on this street as well as some shops and small restaurants. Very safe area for walking alone or at night. Refreshing!

Bristol is a gem of a little New England town. Hope Street is the quintessential New England street with historic homes, shops, and restaurants.

Basically the main street of Bristol with charming, imposing, and sweet homes to stroll past. It was several weeks before the Fourth of July, so I suspect the many flags and even red-white-and-blue buntings were standard.Very pleasant for a walk.

Love that the street's centerline was painted red, white and blue.

Great shady sidewalks and lots of small shop and places to catch a bite to eat. Good mix of locals and tourists. Lots of historical buildings to view...churches, schools, and Bristol Historical Society nearby.

Stroll this historic Downtown street listening to the carillon from the nearby historic Congregational Church, which was founded months before the town in 1680 by the same four people.
There is a variety of shops and restaurants as well as museums showcasing the fascinating history of the area.
Enjoy a historic walking tour hearing about the British being intentionally misdirected to the Episcopal Church as the redcoats searched for the Patriot Arsenal supposedly stored at the First Congregational Church.
From pub fare to French or Italian cuisine, there's a food choice for everyone.
