“Revolutionary War site and battleground”

Camden Revolutionary War Site

Took my grandson and of course he liked the ground shaking cannons the best. It is a 2 day event and we could only stay one day. It would be easier to have the 2 days if you can to be able to see everything. My only suggestion is that they run some speakers along the "view" line for the English commander/announcer to be heard better before the battle. Vendors offered home made things and some showed how they used to smoke meat and fish etc. Tents everywhere, many being lived in for the event as in days of old. Would definitely go back!

This is a very large historical site so be prepared to walk. There is a large house representing Cornwallis's headquarters. A tavern and other builds are also located on site.

Been to the Camden Revolutionary War site for reenactment weekends. Great experience to soak up history.

There is great history here, but it desperately needs updating. The displays look to be late 1970's era when the site was established. It also seems like they put a lot of money and effort into things like the stockade fence across the street that no one probably visits. They need to put that money and effort into the main part of the museum. The gift shop is actually quite nice. We did the self-guided tour, but I would recommend trying the guided to try to get more info.

Cost a good bit for what you get. We decided not to pay once we got inside since we could walk around & research it all ourselves. We may have missed some but really didn't have much time so we enjoyed our own tour as Camden is a beautiful historical town.
There may be much better information that they offer but we just opted out.
