There are a couple of hotels I prefer when staying in/near the historic district. This one tops my list, for sure!! Recent stay in The Riley Suite and it was great. The refrigerator, however, froze whatever beverages were in there overnight.
The staff is friendly and knowledgeable.
A big shout out to the door men......This visit our interactions were with Jay C and Mackey W. Although valet parking was not available yet, due to Covid restrictions, the gentlemen were most gracious and welcoming each time we left or returned to the hotel.
In past visits, these 2 doormen were also there to give outstanding service. There is a third doorman I would like to mention as outstanding, although I understand he has been furloughed currently, again, due to Covid. Bill is his name and I certainly hope to see him, along with Jay and Mackey, on my next visit.
Again, as always, a great stay on Renaissance, Historic Charleston District and I am anxious to return soon.
Concerning the dining situation at the hotel. we found Handy and Hot to be fine for our breakfast needs. I love Vivian Howard and am excited for the opening of the on-site Lenoir Restaurant soon.More
