“Quite possibly the best property I have ever had the pleasure of visiting”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 April 2012

This was my second opportunity to stay at Charleston Place and it certainly will not be my last. We stayed on the eighth floor, which is on the club level. The room was wonderful and the team that operates the club lounge was simply the best. Special mention to Daniel, Ken and Marianne. The location cannot be beat and the beauty of the property spectacular. If you do not have the good fortune to lodge here at least stop in to admire the lobby and have a cocktail in the Thoroughbred Lounge. Looking forward to a return visit soon.

Room Tip: Club floors are great if you can swing it.

Due to another hotel ( major chain) mishandling our reservations I moved a business meeting to Charleston Place on short notice. 12 of us stayed for four wonderful nights and I can't be more complementary of the hotel staff. Our meeting room was wonderful and well attended to. We had breakfast and lunch at the hotel each day and food was great and plentiful.
The rooms are very comfortable and the housekeeping staff top notch. I stayed in Jounior Suite on second floor with nice street views.Rick the Concierge deserves a shout out for great connections to the best restaurants and a super attitude.
Location is within walking distance of all downtown attractions.

Room Tip: Jounior suites are nice. Fourth floor and above may be quietest

Hard to believe that this hotel is rated #14 of all hotels in Charleston. Stayed there for four nights and had a wonderful experience. The room was beautiful and clean. The service was exceptional. My husband (who was not with me) ordered a bottle of champagne and a fruit and cheese platter over the phone to be delivered to my room for my birthday. They did a beautiful job. Had lunch twice in the Grill and both times the food and service were excellent. As said before, the location is perfect as we could walk anywhere within the downtown area. The tour we took had a bus that picked us up at the hotel. When we left, there was a taxi right there, without having to wait. The beds were comfy and the bathroom was very nice. The only complaint is the pedicure I got at the spa. The girl cut me twice. My cousin had no complaints about her pedicure (same manicurist).

We just returned from our first trip to Charleston, South Carolina. Our friends had researched the city and felt that the Charleston Place would be the best choice. She was absolutely right. The hotel was beautiful, and the service impeccable. Everyone was friendly .... southern hospitality at its finest. The location is excellent, near the downtown shopping and historical buildings. We stayed on the concierge floor, which turned out to be a great value. The room includes the concierge lounge, which starts with morning breakfast followed by wine and cheese, then high tea followed by a full bar and light food, and finally desserts. The bar on the ground floor is elegant and food at the Charleston Grille was great.
While there, we did a day car tour of the city and a plantation with Ken Goodman, who was recommended by the hotel. We also did a horse and buggy ride shortly after our arrival in the city. We had lunch one day at the Market Pavillion Hotel at 225, and then checked out the pool scene on the top floor .... reminded us of the Gansevoort in South Beach. On our last evening, we had dinner at Peninsula Grille which was top notch.

Room Tip: The concierge floor is worth the added cost.

The Charleston Place hotel is a phenomenal hotel which spares no attention to detail! From the entrance with the magnificant chandelier to the amazing pool, the hotel is paradise in the city. We stayed in Charleston over night on route to Myrtle Beach and what a great idea! The staff are attentive and extremely helpful. The hotel is walking distance to a number of restaurants, the market, and the meeting locations for the carriage tours. We stayed on the club level and each of the meals/snacks were delicious and creative. The only slight disappointment was our view of the parking garage next door, as opposed to the view of the city. We would return in a heart beat!

We recently stayed at Charleston Place for 4 nights in the delightful city of Charleston SC. The services was excellent all around. The roomm was extremely comfortable. Dinner at the Charleston Place restauant was top of the line - great food, attentive when needed, but not overbearing service. We even had follow up thank you from the wait staff.
We would definitely return again

Room Tip: Corner rooms are light and the fourth floor has the spa which is not obtrusive or noisy

Staff is rude and racist!! went there with my brother and sister, we decide to have lunch at their restaurant bad idea if you are hispanic! my brother order a mimosa and the waitress ask for his ID he showed his mexican passport and she started a freaking FBI investigation, she said they only accepted SC government issued IDs, which is of course ridiculous this a tourist place people came from all over, we were very upset and requested a new waiter, but the whole meal was ruined we never even got a apology, i like everything about this hotel but this accident ruin our day will never be back!
