Vendue Suites is basically like staying in an apartment for a few days. The continental breakfast was okay (the fruit was excellent) and we supplemented it with eggs and whole grain bread from the supermarket up the street. Jean was a helpful hostess and answered all our questions. The location is absolutely tremendous since it is right in the middle of the historic district, and just down the street from S.N.O.B.!

We stayed on the third floor, in a 2-bedroom suite. It was quiet and comfortable. Our bedroom (the one with the queen bed) had no window, which was okay because we never spent any time there during the day. But make sure to set your alarm for the morning, otherwise the dark will tempt you to sleep in.

Stayed two nights in this cross between a B & B and boutique hotel. Our hostess (Jean) was very helpful and offered excellent guidance on attractions and fine dining. Beautifully appointed room included a small refrigerator stocked with snacks and a complimentary bottle of wine. Continental breakfast included in-room each morning (no common dining facilities as you would expect from a typical B & B). Nice touches included free parking in a convenient garage behind the property, complimentary adult beverages at a local restaurant (co-owned by the proprietor) and the free use of bicycles during your stay. Property is right in the heart of town and most attractions, bars and restaurants are within easy walking distance. One minor complaint from my spouse: water was not hot enough (though it was fine for me....)

My wife and I (both in our 30's) had a fantastic stay for our anniversary at the Vendue Suites from Sept. 18-20. Jean was a wonderful host, and provided us with complimentary cheese & crackers, wine, and champagne (once she found out it was our anniversary). Also each morning, there were carafes of orange juice and milk, fresh fruit, and various breakfast items such as danish, muffins, and bagels with cream cheese and jam placed in the room for us to enjoy. There are also bicycles for the guests' use, free of charge, which were perfect for riding around Charleston and seeing the sites. Jean made sure to give us a rundown of the town when we arrived, complete with maps, walking tours, and recommendations for dinner and sites to see. We also received a coupon for two free drinks at the Fleet Landing restaurant, and had an excellent lunch there overlooking the water on Saturday.
Our room was clean, very quaint, and had huge windows that overlook Vendue Range and provide tons of light. We stayed in the one-bedroom, and it was a very nice room with stairs leading up to the bathroom. Not overly large in size, with just a small seating area and table in one corner, refrigerator built in under the stairs, and an armoire for clothes, but just right for us since we dont spend much time in our room on vacation (and the four-poster bed was gorgeous).
The location could not be better - you are truly within walking distance of everything, with numerous great bars & pubs on the same block, and the Old Market and all the most popular restaurants within about a 3-block radius. And the price was extremely reasonable (the best we found by far) for such a great location in the heart of the Historic District. We will, without a doubt, be staying here again on all future trips into Charleston. Book a stay here - you will not be disappointed.

My adult son and I visited Charleston over the 4th of July weekend. Vendue Suites was a great place to stay--comfortable (the beds are so comfortable) and great location! We will definitely recommend this place to friends...2 bedrooms, 11/2 baths, kitchen/sitting area...so pleasantly decorated. Jean made us feel welcome and comfortable.

Stayed here for memorial day weekend and was really impressed. The location can't be beat as you can walk to all the bar, restaurants and tourist attractions. No need to take your car out of the garage unless you want to go to a plantation or the beach. The rooms were very clean and nice. Jean is a huge help and can answer any questions. I would stay here again as I can't imagine another B&B not being much better.
