Enjoyed this Inn immensely, the rooms and area were beautiful. Nice courtyard and the wine and cheese in the afternoon was a great surprise. Nice breakfast in the morning and the location was outstanding. The only drawbacks were limited places to set and work on the computer and the parking was outraged but then did have a spot out front to load and unload before you hade to drove a few blocks to your designated spot.

My wife and I stayed here on a group visit with the Shrine. The hotel staff was friendly, polite, personable, and knowledgeable. The bed was high off the floor for cool sleeping during hot summer evenings. Although, we didn't need that since the room was climate controlled and the weather was quite cool. The breakfasts were complete, not the continental breakfasts offered by a lot of the hotels. Fresh eggs, fresh coffee and tea, fresh sausage gravy, etc. It has a convenient veranda where you can eat your breakfast alfresco. The hotel is just across the street from the Charleston Market, which is a must see when you visit Charleston. There are many restaurants nearby. The Charleston museum is also very close. There is a lot to see near the hotel. This hotel is also very clean.

Room tip: Rooms farthest from Market Street are quieter.

If you are on a strict budget then this hotel will be fine. Historic building and decor. Everything is tired. I'm not sure the hotel and rooms are dirty but they are well worn. Everything looks like it needs a good cleaning and a fresh coat of paint. The hotel lobby is depressing. Our room was not even made up when they let us check in. They have a wine and cheese hour and breakfast is included. Eggs are cold. I would spend a bit more and stay in a first rate Charleston Inn.

Very nice hotel in beautiful downtown Charleston South Carolina with friends for 3 day vacation in October 2018. Hotel is rather dated, but very clean and very quiet. Staff was very professional. Will definitely go back and highly recommend to others.

Room tip: Take advantage of the cocktail hour and their very good breakfast.

The location of this hotel is perfect!
Public areas and guest rooms need some touch up paint, caulking, and dry wall touch up!
The decor is SO quaint and welcoming!
The hotel staff is great, however we didn’t find the front desk employees very friendly.
Location is this hotels best asset.
