Really enjoyed this museum. Learned so much about the rice plantations in SC and how they supported the economy. Great displays...great tour guides. Very informative video. Loved seeing the video telling about how the rice plantations operated. Great place for whole family.

Very informative guided tour of the Rice Museum that included the displays upstairs in the town clock and also the annex in the building next door. They have the Browns Ferry boat on the second floor with artefacts that were found when they raised the boat in the 1970's.

The tour was very informative from a historical view point. The guide provided a lot of information and history about the plantations, indigo, and rice growing. The museum actually is a tour of the Kaminski Hardware building, the Maritime History Museum, and the Rice Museum. The cost is minimal. Children and senior discounts are available. There is a modern elevator in the Kaminski Building which takes you up to the second and third floors to the Maritime History Museum on the third floor and then down to the second floor to see some of the Gullah history of S.C. The Rice Museum has steps leading up to the second floor so individuals with mobility issues can not traverse..
